Prophecy about Damascus
1The 12oracleH4853 concerning 3DamascusH1834. “BeholdH2009, DamascusH1834 is about to be 4removedH5493 from being a cityH5892 And will becomeH1961 a 5fallenH4654 ruinH4596.2The citiesH5892 6of 7AroerH6177 are forsakenH5800; They will be for 8flocksH5739 9to lieH7257 downH7257 in, And thereH369 will be 10noH369 oneH369 to frightenH2729 them.3The 1112fortifiedH4013 cityH4013 will disappearH7673 from EphraimH669, And 13sovereigntyH4467 from DamascusH1834 And the remnantH7605 of AramH758; They will be like the 14gloryH3519 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478,” DeclaresH5002 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635.
4Now in that dayH3117 the 15gloryH3519 of JacobH3290 will 16fadeH1809, And 17the fatnessH4924 of his fleshH1320 will becomeH7329 leanH7329.5It will be 18even like the 19reaperH622 gatheringH7105 the standingH7054 grainH7054, As his armH2220 harvestsH7114 the earsH7641, Or it will be like one gleaningH3950 earsH7641 of grainH7641 In the 20valleyH6010 of RephaimH7497.6Yet 21gleaningsH5955 will be leftH7604 in it like the 22shakingH5363 of an oliveH2132 treeH2132, TwoH8147 or threeH7969 olivesH1620 on the topmostH7218H534 boughH534, FourH702 or fiveH2568 on the branchesH5585 of a fruitfulH6509 treeH6509, DeclaresH5002 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478.7In that dayH3117 manH120 will 23haveH8159 regardH8159 for his MakerH6213 And his eyesH5869 will lookH7200 to the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478.8He will not haveH8159 regardH8159 for the 24altarsH4196, the workH4639 of his handsH3027, NorH3808 will he lookH7200 to that whichH834 his 25fingersH676 have madeH6213, Even the 2627AsherimH842 and 28incenseH2553 standsH2553.9In that dayH3117 29their strongH4581 citiesH5892 will be like 30forsakenH5805 placesH5805 in the forestH2793, Or like 31branchesH534 whichH834 they abandonedH5800 beforeH4480H6440 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478; And 32the land will be a desolationH8077.10For 33you have forgottenH7911 the 34GodH430 of your salvationH3468 And have not rememberedH2142 the 35rockH6697 of your refugeH4581. ThereforeH5921H3651 you plantH5193 delightfulH5282 plantsH5194 And setH2232 them with vineH2156 slipsH2156 of a strangeH2114 god.11In the dayH3117 that you plantH5194 it you carefullyH5473 fenceH5473 it in, And in the 36morningH1242 you bringH6524 your seedH2233 to blossomH6524; But the harvestH7105 will 37be a heapH5067 In a dayH3117 of sicklinessH2470 and incurableH605 painH3511.
12AlasH1945, the uproarH1995 of manyH7227 peoplesH5971 38Who roarH1993 like the roaringH1993 of the seasH3220, And the rumblingH7588 of nationsH3816 Who rushH7582 on like the 39rumblingH7588 of mightyH3524 watersH4325!13The 40nationsH3816 rumbleH7582 on like the rumblingH7588 of manyH7227 watersH4325, But He will 41rebukeH1605 them and they will fleeH5127 farH4801 awayH4801, And be chasedH7291 42like chaffH4671 in the mountainsH2022 beforeH6440 the windH7307, Or like whirlingH1534 dustH1534 beforeH6440 a galeH5492.14At eveningH6153 timeH6256, beholdH2009, there is terrorH1091! BeforeH2962 morningH1242 43they are noH369 moreH369. 44SuchH2088 will be the portionH2506 of those who plunderH962 us And the lotH1486 of those who pillageH962 us.
