Observances of Fasts
1“1CryH7121 loudlyH1627, do not holdH2820 backH2820; RaiseH7311 your voiceH6963 like a trumpetH7782, And declareH5046 to My peopleH5971 their 2transgressionH6588 And to the houseH1004 of JacobH3290 their sinsH2403.2Yet they 3seekH1875 Me dayH3117 by dayH3117 and delightH2654 to knowH1847 My waysH1870, As a nationH1471 that has doneH6213 4righteousnessH6666 And 5has not forsakenH5800 the ordinanceH4941 of their GodH430. They askH7592 Me for justH6664 decisionsH4941, They delightH2654 6in the nearnessH7132 of GodH430.3‘WhyH4100 have we 7fastedH6684 and You do not seeH7200? Why have we humbledH6031 ourselvesH5315 and You do not 8noticeH3045?’ BeholdH2005, on the 9dayH3117 of your fastH6685 you findH4672 your desireH2656, And driveH5065 hardH5065 allH3605 your workersH6092.4BeholdH2005, you fastH6684 for contentionH7379 and 10strifeH4683 and to strikeH5221 with a wickedH7562 fistH106. You do not fastH6684 like you do todayH3117 to 11makeH8085 your voiceH6963 heardH8085 on highH4791.5Is it a fastH6685 like thisH2088 which I chooseH977, a dayH3117 for a manH120 to humbleH6031 himselfH5315? Is it for bowingH3721 12one’s headH7218 like a reedH100 And for spreadingH3331 out 13sackclothH8242 and ashesH665 as a bed? Will you callH7121 thisH2088 a fastH6685, even an 14acceptableH7522 dayH3117 to the LordH3068?6Is thisH2088 not the fastH6685 which I chooseH977, To 15loosenH6605 the bondsH2784 of wickednessH7562, To undoH5425 the bandsH92 of the yokeH4133, And to 16letH7971 the oppressedH7533 goH7971 freeH2670 And 17breakH5423 everyH3605 yokeH4133?7Is it not to 18divideH6536 your breadH3899 19with the hungryH7457 And 20bringH935 the homelessH4788 poorH6041 into the houseH1004; WhenH3588 you seeH7200 the 21nakedH6174, to coverH3680 him; And not to 22hideH5956 yourself from your own fleshH1320?8ThenH227 your 23lightH216 will breakH1234 out like the dawnH7837, And your 24recoveryH724 will speedilyH4120 springH6779 forthH6779; And your 25righteousnessH6664 will goH1980 beforeH6440 you; The gloryH3519 of the 26LordH3068 will be your rearH622 guardH622.9ThenH227 you will 27callH7121, and the LordH3068 will answerH6030; You will cryH7768, and He will sayH559, ‘HereH2009 I am.’ IfH518 you 28removeH5493 the yokeH4133 from your midstH8432, The 2930pointingH7971 of the fingerH676 and 31speakingH1696 wickednessH205,10And if you 3233giveH6329 yourselfH5315 to the hungryH7457 And satisfyH7646 the 34desireH5315 of the afflictedH6031, Then your 35lightH216 will riseH2224 in darknessH2822 And your gloomH653 will become like middayH6672.11And the 36LordH3068 will continuallyH8548 guideH5148 you, And 37satisfyH7646 your 38desireH5315 in scorchedH6710 placesH6710, And 39giveH2502 strengthH2502 to your bonesH6106; And you will be like a 40wateredH7302 gardenH1588, And like a 41springH4161 of waterH4325 whoseH834 watersH4325 do not 42failH3576.12Those from among you will 43rebuildH1129 the ancientH5769 ruinsH2723; You will 44raiseH6965 up the age-oldH1755 foundationsH4144; And you will be calledH7121 the repairerH1443 of the 45breachH6556, The restorerH7725 of the 46streetsH5410 in which to dwellH3427.
Keeping the Sabbath
13“IfH518 becauseH4480 of the sabbathH7676, you 47turnH7725 your footH7272 From doingH6213 your own pleasureH2656 on My holyH6944 dayH3117, And callH7121 the sabbathH7676 a 48delightH6027, the holyH6918 day of the LordH3068 honorableH3513, And honorH3513 it, desistingH6213 from your 49own waysH1870, From seekingH4672 your own pleasureH2656 And 50speakingH1696 your own wordH1697,14ThenH227 you will takeH6026 51delightH6026 in the LordH3068, And I will make you rideH7392 52on the heightsH1116 of the earthH776; And I will feedH398 you with the heritageH5159 of JacobH3290 your fatherH1, For the 53mouthH6310 of the LordH3068 has spokenH1696.”
