Jerusalem Is Warned
1WoeH1945, O 1ArielH740, 2ArielH740 the cityH7151 where DavidH1732 once 3campedH2583! AddH3254 yearH8141 to yearH8141, 45observeH5362 your feastsH2282 on scheduleH5362.2I will bringH6693 distressH6693 to ArielH740, And she will be a city of lamentingH8386 and 6mourningH592; And she will be like an ArielH740 to me.3I will 7campH2583 againstH5921 you 8encirclingH1754 you, And I will setH6696 siegeworksH4674 againstH5921 you, And I will raiseH6965 up battleH4694 towersH4694 againstH5921 you.4Then you will 9be broughtH8213 lowH8213; From the earthH776 you will speakH1696, And from the dustH6083 where you are prostrateH7817 Your wordsH565 will come. Your voiceH6963 will also be like that of a 10spiritH178 from the groundH776, And your speechH565 will whisperH6850 from the dustH6083.
5But the multitudeH1995 of your 11enemiesH2114 will becomeH1961 like fineH1851 12dustH80, And the multitudeH1995 of the 13ruthlessH6184 onesH6184 like the chaffH4671 which 14blowsH5674 awayH5674; And it will happenH1961 15instantlyH6621, suddenlyH6597.6From the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 you will be 16punishedH6485 with 17thunderH7482 and earthquakeH7494 and loudH1419 noiseH6963, With whirlwindH5492 and tempestH5591 and the flameH3851 of a consumingH398 fireH784.7And the 18multitudeH1995 of allH3605 the nationsH1471 who wageH6633 warH6633 againstH5921 19ArielH740, Even allH3605 who wageH6633 warH6633 against her and her strongholdH4685, and who distressH6693 her, Will be like a dreamH2472, a 20visionH2377 of the nightH3915.8It will be as whenH3512 a hungryH7457 manH7457 dreamsH2492-- And beholdH2009, he is eatingH398; But when he awakensH7019, his 21hungerH5315 is not satisfiedH7386, Or as whenH3512 a thirstyH6771 manH6771 dreamsH2492-- And beholdH2009, he is drinkingH8354, But when he awakensH7019, beholdH2009, he is faintH5889 And his 22thirstH5315 is not quenchedH8264. 23ThusH3651 the multitudeH1995 of allH3605 the nationsH1471 will be Who wageH6633 warH6633 againstH5921 MountH2022 ZionH6726.
924Be delayedH4102 and waitH8539, BlindH8173 yourselves and be blindH8173; They 25becomeH7937 drunkH7937, but not with wineH3196, They staggerH5128, but not with strongH7941 drinkH7941.10For the LordH3068 has pouredH5258 overH5921 you a spiritH7307 of deepH8639 26sleepH8639, He has 27shutH6105 your eyesH5869, the prophetsH5030; And He has coveredH3680 your headsH7218, the seersH2374. 11The entireH3605 visionH2380 will be to you like the wordsH1697 of a sealedH2856 2829bookH5612, whichH834 when they giveH5414 it to the one who 30is literateH3045H5612, sayingH559, “PleaseH4994 readH7121 thisH2088,” he will sayH559, “I cannotH3201H3808, for it is sealedH2856.” 12Then the 31bookH5612 will be givenH5414 to the one whoH834 32is illiterateH3808H3045H5612, sayingH559, “PleaseH4994 readH7121 thisH2088.” And he will sayH559, “I 33cannotH3808 readH3045H5612.”
13Then the LordH136 saidH559, “BecauseH3282H3588 34thisH2088 peopleH5971 drawH5066 nearH5066 with their 35wordsH6310 And honorH3513 Me with their 36lipH8193 serviceH8193, But they removeH7368 their heartsH3820 farH7368 from Me, And their 37reverenceH3372 for Me 38consistsH1961 of 39traditionH4687H376 learnedH3925 by rote,14ThereforeH3651 beholdH2009, I will once againH3254 dealH6381 40marvelouslyH6381 with thisH2088 peopleH5971, wondrouslyH6381 marvelousH6381; And 41the wisdomH2451 of their wiseH2450 menH2450 will perishH6, And the discernmentH998 of their discerningH995 men will be concealedH5641.”
15WoeH1945 to those who deeplyH6009 42hideH5641 their 43plansH6098 from the LordH3068, And whose 44deedsH4639 are done in a darkH4285 placeH4285, And they sayH559, “45WhoH4310 seesH7200 us?” or “WhoH4310 knowsH3045 us?”16You turnH2016 things aroundH2016! Shall the potterH3335 be consideredH2803 46as equal with the clayH2563, That 47whatH4639 is madeH4639 would sayH559 to its makerH6213, “He did not makeH6213 me”; Or whatH3336 is formedH3335 sayH559 to him who formedH3335 it, “He has noH3808 understandingH995”?
Blessing after Discipline
17Is it not yetH5750 just a littleH4592 whileH4592 48Before LebanonH3844 will be turnedH7725 into a 49fertileH3759 fieldH3759, And the fertileH3759 fieldH3759 will be consideredH2803 as a forestH3293?18On that dayH3117 the 50deafH2795 will hearH8085 51wordsH1697 of a bookH5612, And out of their gloomH652 and darknessH2822 the 52eyesH5869 of the blindH5787 will seeH7200.19The 53afflictedH6035 also will increaseH3254 their gladnessH8057 in the LordH3068, And the 54needyH34 of mankindH120 will rejoiceH1523 in the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478.20For the 55ruthlessH6184 will comeH656 to an endH656 and the 56scornerH3917 will be finishedH3615, Indeed 57allH3605 who 58are intentH8245 on doingH8245 evilH205 will be cutH3772 offH3772;21Who 59cause a personH120 to be indictedH2398 by a wordH1697, And 60ensnareH6983 him who adjudicatesH3198 at the gateH8179, And 6162defraudH5186 the oneH6662 in the rightH6662 with 63meaninglessH8414 argumentsH8414.
22ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, whoH834 redeemedH6299 64AbrahamH85, concerningH413 the houseH1004 of JacobH3290: “JacobH3290 65shall not nowH6258 be ashamedH954, norH3808 shall his faceH6440 nowH6258 turnH2357 paleH2357;23But whenH3588 66he seesH7200 his 67childrenH3206, the 68workH4639 of My handsH3027, in his midstH7130, They will sanctifyH6942 My nameH8034; Indeed, they will 69sanctifyH6942 the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of JacobH3290 And will standH6206 in aweH6206 of the GodH430 of IsraelH3478.24Those who 70errH8582 in 71mindH7307 will 72knowH3045 73the truthH998, And those who 74criticizeH7279 will 7576acceptH3925 instructionH3948.
