Genesis 39:7-20
7It cameH1961 about afterH310 theseH428 eventsH1697 1that his master’sH113 wifeH802 2lookedH5375H5869 with desireH5375 at JosephH3130, and she saidH559, “3LieH7901 with me.” 8But 4he refusedH3985 and saidH559 to his master’sH113 wifeH802, “BeholdH2005, with me here, my masterH113 5does not concernH3045 himself with anythingH4100 in the houseH1004, and he has putH5414 allH3605 that he ownsH3426 in my 6chargeH3027. 978ThereH369 is noH369 one greaterH1419 in thisH2088 houseH1004 thanH4480 I, and he has withheldH2820 nothingH3808H3972 from me exceptH3588H518 you, becauseH834 you are his wifeH802. HowH349 then could I doH6213 thisH2088 greatH1419 evilH7463 and 9sinH2398 against GodH430?” 10As she spokeH1696 to JosephH3130 dayH3117 after dayH3117, he did not listenH8085 to her to lieH7901 besideH681 her or be with her. 11Now it happenedH1961 10oneH2088 dayH3117 that he wentH935 into the houseH1004 to doH6213 his workH4399, and noneH369H376 of the menH376 of the householdH1004 was thereH8033 insideH1004. 12She caughtH8610 him by his garmentH899, sayingH559, “LieH7901 with me!” And he leftH5800 his garmentH899 in her handH3027 and fledH5127, and wentH3318 outsideH2351. 1311When she sawH7200 that he had leftH5800 his garmentH899 in her handH3027 and had fledH5127 outsideH2351, 14she calledH7121 to the menH376 of her householdH1004 and saidH559 to them, “SeeH7200, he has broughtH935 in a 12HebrewH5680 to us to makeH6711 sportH6711 of us; he cameH935 in to me to lieH7901 with me, and I 13screamedH7121H6963H1419. 15When he heardH8085 that I raisedH7311 my voiceH6963 and 14screamedH7121, he leftH5800 his garmentH899 besideH681 me and fledH5127 and wentH3318 outsideH2351.” 16So she 15leftH5117 his garmentH899 besideH681 her untilH5704 his masterH113 cameH935 homeH1004. 17Then she 16spokeH1696 to him 17with theseH428 wordsH1697, “18The HebrewH5680 slaveH5650, whomH834 you broughtH935 to us, cameH935 in to me to makeH6711 sportH6711 of me; 18and as I raisedH7311 my voiceH6963 and 19screamedH7121, he leftH5800 his garmentH899 besideH681 me and fledH5127 outsideH2351.”
19Now when his masterH113 heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of his wifeH802, whichH834 she spokeH1696 to him, sayingH559, “20ThisH1697H428 is whatH1697 your slaveH5650 didH6213 to me,” 21his angerH639 burnedH2734. 20So Joseph’sH3130 masterH113 tookH3947 him and 22putH5414 him into the jailH1004H5470, the placeH4725 whereH834 the king’sH4428 prisonersH615 were confinedH631; and he was thereH8033 in the jailH1004H5470.
