Genesis 27:22-40
22So JacobH3290 cameH5066 closeH5066 to IsaacH3327 his fatherH1, and he feltH4959 him and saidH559, “The voiceH6963 is the voiceH6963 of JacobH3290, but the handsH3027 are the handsH3027 of EsauH6215.” 23He did not recognizeH5234 him, becauseH3588 his handsH3027 were 1hairyH8163 like his brotherH251 Esau’sH6215 handsH3027; so he blessedH1288 him. 24And he saidH559, “Are you reallyH2088 my sonH1121 EsauH6215?” And he saidH559, “I am.” 25So he saidH559, “BringH5066 it to me, and I will eatH398 of my son’sH1121 gameH6718, that 23I may blessH1288 you.” And he broughtH5066 it to him, and he ateH398; he also broughtH935 him wineH3196 and he drankH8354. 26Then his fatherH1 IsaacH3327 saidH559 to him, “PleaseH4994 comeH5066 closeH5066 and kissH5401 me, my sonH1121.” 27So he cameH5066 closeH5066 and kissedH5401 him; and when he smelledH7381 the smellH7381 of his garmentsH899, he 4blessedH1288 him and saidH559, “SeeH7200, 5the smellH7381 of my sonH1121 Is like the smellH7381 of a fieldH7704 6whichH834 the LordH3068 has blessedH1288;28Now may 7GodH430 giveH5414 you of the dewH2919 of heavenH8064, And of the 8fatnessH8082 of the earthH776, And an abundanceH7230 of grainH1715 and newH8492 wineH8492;299May peoplesH5971 serveH5647 you, And nationsH3816 bowH7812 downH7812 to you; 10Be masterH1376 of your brothersH251, 11And may your mother’sH517 sonsH1121 bowH7812 downH7812 to you. 12CursedH779 be those who curseH779 you, And blessedH1288 be those who blessH1288 you.”
30Now it cameH1961 about, as soonH3512 as IsaacH3327 had finishedH3615 blessingH1288 JacobH3290, and JacobH3290 had hardlyH389H3318 goneH3318 out from the presenceH6440 of IsaacH3327 his fatherH1, that EsauH6215 his brotherH251 cameH935 in from his huntingH6718. 31Then he alsoH1571 madeH6213 savoryH4303 foodH4303, and broughtH935 it to his fatherH1; and he saidH559 to his fatherH1, “13Let my fatherH1 ariseH6965 and eatH398 of his son’sH1121 gameH6718, that 1415you may blessH1288 me.” 32IsaacH3327 his fatherH1 saidH559 to him, “16WhoH4310 are you?” And he saidH559, “I am your sonH1121, 17your firstbornH1060, EsauH6215.” 33Then IsaacH3327 18trembledH2729 violentlyH2731H1419H5704H3966, and saidH559, “19WhoH4310 was he thenH645 that huntedH6679 gameH6718 and broughtH935 it to me, so that I ateH398 of allH3605 of it beforeH2962 you cameH935, and blessedH1288 him? 20YesH1571, and he shall be blessedH1288.” 34When EsauH6215 heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of his fatherH1, 21he criedH6817 out with an exceedinglyH3966 greatH1419 and bitterH4751 cryH6818, and saidH559 to his fatherH1, “BlessH1288 me, even me alsoH1571, O my fatherH1!” 35And he saidH559, “22Your brotherH251 cameH935 deceitfullyH4820 and has takenH3947 away your blessingH1293.” 36Then he saidH559, “23Is he not rightly namedH7121H8034 24JacobH3290, for he has supplantedH6117 me theseH2088 twoH6471 timesH6471? He tookH3947 away my birthrightH1062, and beholdH2009, nowH6258 he has takenH3947 away my blessingH1293.” And he saidH559, “Have you not reservedH680 a blessingH1293 for me?” 37But IsaacH3327 repliedH6030 to EsauH6215, “BeholdH2005, I have madeH7760 him 25your masterH1376, and allH3605 his 26relativesH251 I have givenH5414 to him 27as servantsH5650; and with grainH1715 and newH8492 wineH8492 I have sustainedH5564 him. Now as for you thenH645, whatH4100 can I doH6213, my sonH1121?” 38EsauH6215 saidH559 to his fatherH1, “Do you have only oneH259 blessingH1293, my fatherH1? BlessH1288 me, even me alsoH1571, O my fatherH1.” So EsauH6215 liftedH5375 his voiceH6963 and 28weptH1058.
39Then 29IsaacH3327 his fatherH1 answeredH6030 and saidH559 to him, “BeholdH2009, 3031away from the 32fertilityH8082 of the earthH776 shall be your dwellingH4186, And 33away from the dewH2919 of heavenH8064 from aboveH5921.40By your swordH2719 you shall liveH2421, And your brotherH251 34you shall serveH5647; But it shall comeH1961 about 35whenH3512 you becomeH7300 restlessH7300, That you will 36breakH6561 his yokeH5923 from your neckH6677.”
