Genesis 21:5-17

5Now AbrahamH85 was 1one hundredH3967 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when his sonH1121 IsaacH3327 was bornH3205 to him. 6SarahH8283 saidH559, “GodH430 has madeH6213 2laughterH6712 for me; everyoneH3605 who hearsH8085 will laughH6711 3with me.” 7And she saidH559, “4WhoH4310 would have saidH559 to AbrahamH85 that SarahH8283 would nurseH3243 childrenH1121? YetH3588 I have borneH3205 him a sonH1121 in his oldH2208 ageH2208.”

8The childH3206 grewH1431 and was weanedH1580, and AbrahamH85 madeH6213 a greatH1419 feastH4960 on the dayH3117 that IsaacH3327 was weanedH1580. 9Now SarahH8283 sawH7200 5the sonH1121 of HagarH1904 the EgyptianH4713, whomH834 she had borneH3205 to AbrahamH85, 67mockingH6711. 10Therefore she saidH559 to AbrahamH85, “8DriveH1644 out thisH2088 maidH519 and her sonH1121, for the sonH1121 of thisH2088 maidH519 shall not be an heirH3423 with my sonH1121 9IsaacH3327.” 1110The matterH1697 11distressedH7489 AbrahamH85 greatlyH3966 becauseH5921H182 of his sonH1121. 12But GodH430 saidH559 to AbrahamH85, “12Do not be distressedH7489 becauseH5921 of the ladH5288 and your maidH519; whateverH3605H834 SarahH8283 tellsH559 you, listenH8085 to her, for 13throughH4480 IsaacH3327 14your descendantsH2233 shall be namedH7121. 13And of 15the sonH1121 of the maidH519 I will makeH7760 a nationH1471 alsoH1571, becauseH3588 he is your 16descendantH2233.” 14So AbrahamH85 roseH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242 and tookH3947 breadH3899 and a 17skinH2573 of waterH4325 and gaveH5414 them to HagarH1904, puttingH7760 them on her shoulderH7926, and gave her the boyH3206, and sentH7971 her awayH7971. And she departedH1980 and wanderedH8582 about in the wildernessH4057 of BeershebaH884.

15When the waterH4325 in the skinH2573 was usedH3615 up, she 18leftH7993 the boyH3206 underH8478 oneH259 of the bushesH7880. 16Then she wentH1980 and satH3427 downH3427 oppositeH4480H5048 him, about a bowshotH2909H7198 awayH7368, for she saidH559, “Do not let me 19seeH7200 the boyH3206 dieH4194.” And she satH3427 oppositeH4480H5048 him, and 20liftedH5375 up her voiceH6963 and weptH1058. 17GodH430 21heardH8085 the ladH5288 cryingH6963; and the angelH4397 of GodH430 calledH7121 to HagarH1904 from heavenH8064 and saidH559 to her, “WhatH4100 is the matter with you, HagarH1904? 22Do not fearH3372, for GodH430 has heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of the ladH5288 whereH834H8033 he is.
