Galatians 2:5-14
5But we did not yieldG1502 in subjectionG5292 to them for evenG3761 an hourG5610, soG2443 that 1the truthG225 of the gospelG2098 would remainG1265 with you. 6But from thoseG3588 who 2were of highG5100 3reputationG1380 (whatG3697 they were makesG1308 noG3762 differenceG1308 to me; 4GodG2316 5showsG2983 noG3756 partialityG4383)--wellG1063, thoseG3588 who were of reputationG1380 contributedG4323 nothingG3762 to me. 7But on the contraryG5121, seeingG3708 that I had been 6entrustedG4100 with the 7gospelG2098 8to the uncircumcisedG203, justG2531 as 9PeterG4074 had been 10to the circumcisedG4061 8(for He who effectuallyG1754 workedG1754 for PeterG4074 in his 11apostleshipG651 12to the circumcisedG4061 effectuallyG1754 workedG1754 for me alsoG2532 to the GentilesG1484), 9and recognizingG1097 13the graceG5485 that had been givenG1325 to me, 1415JamesG2385 and 16CephasG2786 and JohnG2491, who were 17reputedG1380 to be 18pillarsG4769, gaveG1325 to me and 19BarnabasG921 the 20rightG1188 21handG1188 of fellowshipG2842, soG2443 that we might 22go to the GentilesG1484 and they to the circumcisedG4061. 10They onlyG3440 asked us to rememberG3421 the poorG4434--23the veryG846 thingG846 I alsoG2532 was eagerG4704 to doG4160.
11But whenG3753 24CephasG2786 cameG2064 to 25AntiochG490, I opposedG436 him to his faceG4383, becauseG3754 he 26stood condemnedG2607. 12For priorG4253 to the comingG2064 of certainG5100 menG5100 from 2728JamesG2385, he used to 29eatG4906 with the GentilesG1484; but whenG3753 they cameG2064, he began to withdrawG5288 and holdG873 himselfG1438 aloofG873, 30fearingG5399 31the party of the circumcisionG4061. 13The restG3062 of the JewsG2453 joinedG4942 him in hypocrisyG4942, with the resultG5620 that evenG2532 32BarnabasG921 was carriedG4879 awayG4879 by their hypocrisyG5272. 14But whenG3753 I sawG3708 that they 33were not 34straightforwardG3716 aboutG4314 35the truthG225 of the gospelG2098, I saidG3004 to 36CephasG2786 in the presenceG1715 of allG3956, “IfG1487 you, beingG5225 a JewG2453, 37liveG2198 likeG1483 the GentilesG1483 and not likeG2452 the JewsG2452, howG4459 is it that you compelG315 the GentilesG1484 to liveG2450 likeG2450 JewsG2450?38
