2For ifG1487IcauseG3076you sorrowG3076,whoτίςtisG5101thenκαὶkaiG2532makesG2165me gladG2165but the one whom I madeG3076sorrowfulG3076?

3ThisτοῦτοtoutoG3778is the veryG846thingG846IwroteἔγραψαegrapsaG1125you, soἵνα μὴina mēG2443 G3361thatwhen I cameἐλθὼνelthōnG2064,I would not haveσχῶschōG2192sorrowλύπηνlupēnG3077from those whoὧνhōnG3739oughtG1163to makeG1163me rejoiceχαίρεινchaireinG5463;havingG3982confidenceG3982in you allπάνταςpantasG3956that my joyχαρὰcharaG5479would be the joyof you allπάντωνpantōnG3956.

5ButifΕἰEiG1487anyτιςtisG5100has causedG3076sorrowG3076,he has causedG3076sorrowG3076not to me, but in someG3313degreeG3313--in orderἵναinaG2443not to sayG1912tooG1912muchG1912--to allπάνταςpantasG3956of you.

6SufficientἱκανὸνhikanonG2425for suchG5108a oneτοιούτῳtoioutōG5108isthisαὕτηhautēG3778punishmentἐπιτιμίαepitimiaG2009which was inflictedby the majorityG4183,

7soὥστεhōsteG5620that on the contraryτοὐναντίονtounantionG5121you should ratherμᾶλλονmallonG3123forgiveχαρίσασθαιcharisasthaiG5483and comfortπαρακαλέσαι,parakalesaiG3870him,otherwiseG3381suchG5108a oneτοιοῦτος.toioutosG5108might be overwhelmedκαταποθῇkatapothēaG2666by excessiveG4053sorrowλύπῃlupēG3077.

17For we are not likeG5613manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183,peddlingκαπηλεύοντεςkapēleuontesG2585the wordλόγονlogonG3056of Godθεοῦ,theouG2316, butas from sincerityεἰλικρινείας,eilikrineiasG1505,but as from Godθεοῦ,theouG2316,we speakλαλοῦμεν.¶laloumenG2980in ChristΧριστῷChristōG5547in the sightκατέναντιkatenantiG2713of GodθεοῦtheouG2316.
