20ThereforeοὖνounG3767when you meetσυνερχομένωνsunerchomenōnG4905togetherἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸepi to autoG1909 G3588 G846,it is not to eatG2068the Lord’sκυριακὸνkuriakonG2960SupperδεῖπνονdeipnonG1173,

21for in your eatingG2068eachG1538oneἕκαστοςhekastosG1538takesG4301his ownἴδιονidionG2398supperδεῖπνονdeipnonG1173firstG4301;and oneὃς μὲνhos menG3739 G3303is hungryπεινᾷ,peinaG3983andanotherὃς δὲhos deG3739 G1161is drunkμεθύει.methueiG3184.

22WhatγὰρgarG1063!Do you not haveἔχετεecheteG2192housesοἰκίαςoikiasG3614in which to eatἐσθίεινesthieinG2068and drinkπίνειν;pineinG4095?OrἢēG2228do you despiseκαταφρονεῖτεkataphroneiteG2706thechurchἐκκλησίαςekklēsiasG1577of GodθεοῦtheouG2316andshameκαταισχύνετεkataischuneteG2617thoseG3588who haveἔχοντας;echontasG2192nothingG3361?WhatτίtiG5101shall I sayG3004to you? 23ForI receivedπαρέλαβονparelabonG3880from the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962that whichὃhoG3739I alsoκαὶkaiG2532deliveredπαρέδωκαparedōkaG3860to you, thatthe LordκύριοςkuriosG2962JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424in the nightνυκτὶnuktiG3571in whichᾗhēG3739He was betrayedπαρεδίδετοparedidetoG3860tookἔλαβενelabenG2983breadἄρτον,artonG740;

24and when He had givenG2168thanksεὐχαριστήσαςeucharistēsasG2168,He brokeἔκλασενeklasenG2806it and saidG3004,“ThisτοῦτόtoutoG3778is My bodyσῶμαsōmaG4983,which is for you; doποιεῖτεpoieiteG4160thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778in remembranceἀνάμνησιν.anamnēsinG364of Me.”

25In the sameG5615wayG5615He tookthe cupποτήριονpotērionG4221alsoκαὶkaiG2532afterμετὰmetaG3326supperδειπνῆσαιdeipnēsaiG1172,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004,“ThisτοῦτοtoutoG3778cupποτήριονpotērionG4221is thenewκαινὴkainēG2537covenantδιαθήκηdiathēkēG1242in My bloodαἵματι·aimatiG129;doποιεῖτε,poieiteG4160thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778,as oftenὁσάκιςhosakisG3740as you drinkπίνητε,pinēteG4095it,in remembranceἀνάμνησιν.anamnēsinG364of Me.”

26For as oftenὁσάκιςhosakisG3740as you eatἐσθίητεesthiēteG2068thisτοῦτονtoutonG3778breadἄρτονartonG740and drinkπίνητε,pinēteG4095the cupποτήριονpotērionG4221,you proclaimκαταγγέλλετεkatangelleteG2605the Lord’sκυρίουkuriouG2962deathθάνατονthanatonG2288untilἄχριachriG891He comesἔλθῃ.¶elthēG2064.

27ThereforeὭστεHōsteG5620whoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302eatsἐσθίῃesthiēG2068the breadἄρτονartonG740orἢēG2228drinksπίνῃpinēG4095the cupποτήριονpotērionG4221of the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962in an unworthyG371mannerG371, shall beguiltyἔνοχοςenochosG1777of the bodyσώματοςsōmatosG4983and the bloodαἵματοςaimatosG129of the Lordκυρίου.kuriouG2962.

28But a manἄνθρωποςanthrōposG444mustexamineδοκιμαζέτωdokimazetōG1381himselfἑαυτόν,he'autonG1438,and in soοὕτωςhoutōsG3779doing he is to eatἐσθιέτωesthietōG2068of the breadἄρτουartouG740and drinkπινέτω·pinetōG4095of the cupποτηρίουpotēriouG4221.

29For he who eatsἐσθίωνesthiōnG2068and drinksπίνωνpinōnG4095,eatsἐσθίειesthieiG2068and drinksπίνειpineiG4095judgmentκρίμαkrimaG2917to himselfἑαυτῷhe'autōG1438if he does not judgeδιακρίνωνdiakrinōnG1252the bodyσῶμαsōmaG4983rightly.

30For thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778reasonδιὰdiaG1223manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183amongἐνenG1722you are weakἀσθενεῖςastheneisG772and sickἄρρωστοι,arrōstoiG732,and a numberἱκανοί.hikanoiG2425sleepκοιμῶνταιkoimōntaiG2837.

31But ifεἰeiG1487we judgedδιεκρίνομεν,diekrinomenG1252ourselvesἑαυτοὺςhe'autousG1438rightly, we would not be judgedἐκρινόμεθα·ekrinomethaG2919.

32But when we are judgedκρινόμενοιkrinomenoiG2919, we aredisciplinedπαιδευόμεθα,paideuomethaG3811by the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962soἵναinaG2443that we will not be condemnedκατακριθῶμεν.¶katakrithōmenG2632alongσὺνsunG4862withthe worldκόσμῳkosmōG2889.

33SoὭστε,HōsteG5620thenG5620,my brethrenἀδελφοίadelphoiG80,when you comeG4905togetherσυνερχόμενοιsunerchomenoiG4905to eatG2068,waitἐκδέχεσθε·ekdechestheG1551for oneἀλλήλουςallēlousG240anotherG240.

34IfεἴeiG1487anyoneτιςtisG5100ishungryπεινᾷ,peinaG3983,let him eatἐσθιέτω,esthietōG2068at homeοἴκῳoikōG3624,soἵναinaG2443that you will not comeσυνέρχησθε.sunerchēstheG4905togetherG4905for judgmentκρίμαkrimaG2917.The remainingλοιπὰloipaG3062matters I willarrangeδιατάξομαι.¶diataxomaiG1299whenὡςhōsG5613I comeἔλθωelthōG2064.
