Numbers 22:22-41

22And 1God's angerH639 was kindled because he wentH1980; and the AngelH4397 of Jehovah set himself in the wayH1870 to withstand him. Now he was ridingH7392 upon his ass, and his twoH8147 youngH5288 menH5288 were with him. 23And the ass sawH7200 the AngelH4397 of Jehovah standingH5324 in the wayH1870, and his swordH2719 drawnH8025 in his handH3027; and the ass turnedH5186 asideH5186 out of the wayH1870, and went into the fieldH7704, and BalaamH1109 smote the ass to turnH5186 her into the wayH1870. 24And the AngelH4397 of Jehovah stoodH5975 in a hollow of the vineyardsH3754, a wallH1447 being on this side, and a wallH1447 on that side. 25And the ass sawH7200 the AngelH4397 of Jehovah, and she pressed herself against the wallH7023, and crushed Balaam's footH7272 against the wallH7023; and he smote her again. 26Then the AngelH4397 of Jehovah went stillH5975 further, and stoodH5975 in a narrow placeH4725, whereH834 was no wayH1870 to turnH5186 either to the rightH3225 handH3225 or to the left. 27And the ass sawH7200 the AngelH4397 of Jehovah, and layH7257 downH5221 under BalaamH1109; and Balaam's angerH639 was kindled, and he smote the ass with his staffH4731. 28And Jehovah openedH6605 the mouthH6310 of the ass, and she saidH559 to BalaamH1109, What have I done to thee, that thou hast smitten me these threeH7969 times? 29And BalaamH1109 saidH559 to the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a swordH2719 in my handH3027, for nowH6258 would I killH2026 thee! 30And the ass saidH559 to BalaamH1109, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast riddenH7392 ever since I was thine to this dayH3117? was I ever wont to do so to thee? And he saidH559, No. 31Then Jehovah opened the eyesH5869 of BalaamH1109, and he sawH7200 the AngelH4397 of Jehovah standingH5324 in the wayH1870, and his swordH2719 drawnH8025 in his handH3027; and he bowedH7812 and prostrated himself on his faceH639. 32And the AngelH4397 of Jehovah saidH559 to him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these threeH7969 times? behold, it was I who cameH3318 forthH3318 to withstand thee, for the wayH1870 [thou walkest in] is for ruin before me. 33And the ass sawH7200 me, and turnedH5186 from me these threeH7969 times; had she not turnedH5186 from me, I had nowH6258 certainly slainH2026 thee, and saved her aliveH2421. 34And BalaamH1109 saidH559 to the AngelH4397 of Jehovah, I have sinnedH2398; for I knewH3045 not that thou stoodest in the wayH1870 against me; and nowH6258, if it be evilH7489 in thine eyesH5869, I will get me backH7725 again. 35And the AngelH4397 of Jehovah saidH559 to BalaamH1109, Go with the menH376, but onlyH657 the wordH1697 that I shall speakH1696 unto thee, that shalt thou speakH1696. And BalaamH1109 went with the princesH8269 of BalakH1111. 36And when BalakH1111 heardH8085 that BalaamH1109 cameH935, he wentH3318 out to meet him, to the cityH5892 of MoabH4124, which is on the borderH1366 of the ArnonH769, which is at the extremity of the borderH1366. 37And BalakH1111 saidH559 to BalaamH1109, Did I not earnestly sendH7971 to thee to callH7121 thee? whyH4100 didst thou not comeH1980 to me? am I not surely ableH3201 to honour thee? 38And BalaamH1109 saidH559 to BalakH1111, Lo, I am comeH935 to thee; but shall I nowH6258 be ableH3201 at all to sayH559 anythingH1697? the wordH1697 that 2GodH430 putsH7760 in my mouthH6310, that shall I speakH1696. 39And BalaamH1109 wentH935 with BalakH1111, and they cameH935 to Kirjath-huzoth. 40And BalakH1111 offeredH2076 oxenH1241 and small cattleH1241, and sentH7971 to BalaamH1109 and to the princesH8269 that were with him. 41And it came to pass on the morrow, that BalakH1111 tookH3947 BalaamH1109, and broughtH5927 him up to the high places of Baal, and he sawH7200 from thence the extremity of the peopleH5971.
