Kings 17:5-17

And the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 overran the whole landH776, and wentH5927 up against SamariaH8111, and besieged it threeH7969 yearsH8141.

In the ninthH8671 yearH8141 of HosheaH1954, the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 tookH3920 SamariaH8111, and carried IsraelH3478 away into AssyriaH804, and placed them in HalahH2477 and by the HaborH2249, the riverH5104 of GozanH1470, and in the citiesH5892 of the Medes.

And so it wasH1961, because the children of IsraelH3478 had sinnedH2398 against Jehovah their 1GodH430, who had broughtH5927 them up out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 from under the handH3027 of PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and had fearedH3372 otherH312 2godsH430;

and they walked in the statutesH2708 of the nationsH1471 that Jehovah had dispossessedH3423 from before the children of IsraelH3478, and of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478, which they had madeH6213.

And the children of IsraelH3478 did secretly against Jehovah their 3GodH430 thingsH1697 that were not rightH3651; and they builtH1129 them highH1116 placesH1116 in all their citiesH5892, from the watchmen's towerH4026 to the fortified cityH5892.

And they setH5324 them up columns and Asherahs on every highH1364 hillH1389 and under every green treeH6086;

and there they burned incenseH6999 on all the highH1116 placesH1116, as did the nationsH1471 that Jehovah had carried away from before them, and they wrought wickedH7451 thingsH1697 to provokeH3707 Jehovah to angerH3707;

and they servedH5647 idolsH1544, as to which Jehovah had saidH559 to them, Ye shall not do this thingH1697.

And Jehovah testifiedH5749 against IsraelH3478 and against JudahH3063, by all the prophetsH5030, all the seersH2374, sayingH559, TurnH7725 from your evilH7451 waysH1870, and keepH8104 my commandmentsH4687, my statutesH2708, according to all the lawH8451 which I commandedH6680 your fathersH1, and which I sentH7971 to you through my servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030.

But they would not hearH8085, and hardenedH7185 their necksH6203, like to the neckH6203 of their fathersH1, who did not believeH539 in Jehovah their 4GodH430.

And they rejectedH3988 his statutesH2706, and his covenantH1285 which he had madeH6213 with their fathersH1, and his testimoniesH5715 which he had testifiedH5749 unto them; and they followed vanityH1892 and became vain, and [went] after the nationsH1471 that were roundH5439 about them, concerning whom Jehovah had charged them that they should not do like them.

And they forsook all the commandmentsH4687 of Jehovah their 5GodH430, and madeH6213 them molten imagesH4541, twoH8147 calvesH5695, and madeH6213 an AsherahH842, and worshipped all the hostH6635 of the heavensH8064, and servedH5647 BaalH1168;

and they caused their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 to passH5674 through the fireH784, and used divinationH7081 and enchantments, and soldH4376 themselves to do evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah, to provokeH3707 him to angerH3707.
