Jeremiah 27

1At the beginningH7225 of the reignH4467 of ZedekiahH30791 sonH1121 of JosiahH2977 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, thisH2088 wordH1697 cameH1961 toH413 JeremiahH3414H854 from the LORDH3068H559.2 2This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saidH559 to meH413:

“MakeH6213 for yourself a yokeH4133 out of leather strapsH4147 and put itH5414 onH5921 your neckH6677. 3SendH7971 word toH413 the kingsH4428 of EdomH123, MoabH4124H413, AmmonH1121H5983H413, TyreH6865H413, andH4428 SidonH6721 throughH3027 the envoysH4397 who have comeH935 to JerusalemH3389 toH413 ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063. 4Give them a messageH6680 from the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, to relayH559 toH413 their mastersH113:

5By My greatH1419 powerH3581 and outstretchedH5186 armH2220, IH595 madeH6213 the earthH776 and the menH120 andH853 beastsH929 onH5921 the faceH6440 ofH776 it, and I give itH5414 to whomH834 I pleaseH3474H5869. 6So nowH6258 IH595 have placedH5414 allH3605 theseH428 landsH776 under the authorityH3027 of My servantH5650 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894. I have evenH1571 madeH5414 the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704 subjectH5647 to him. 7AllH3605 nationsH1471 will serve himH5647 andH853 his sonH1121 and grandsonH1121, untilH5704 the timeH6256 of his own landH776H1571H1931 comesH935; then manyH7227 nationsH1471 and greatH1419 kingsH4428 will enslaveH5647 him.

As for the nationH1471 or kingdomH4467 thatH834 does notH3808 serveH5647 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 and does notH3808 placeH5414 its neckH6677 under his yokeH5923H4428H894, I will punishH6485H5921 thatH1931 nationH1471 by swordH2719 and famineH7458 and plagueH1698, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068, untilH5704 I have destroyedH8552 itH853 by his handH3027.

9But as for youH859, do notH408 listenH8085 toH413 your prophetsH5030, your divinersH7080, your interpreters of dreamsH2472, your mediumsH6049, or your sorcerersH3786 whoH834H1992 declareH559H413, ‘You will notH3808 serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894.’ 10ForH3588 theyH1992 prophesyH5012 to you a lieH8267 that will serveH4616 to remove youH7368 fromH5921 your landH127; I will banish youH5080 and you will perishH6. 11But the nationH1471 thatH834 will putH935 its neckH6677 under the yokeH5923 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 and serve himH5647, I will leaveH5117 inH5921 its own landH127, to cultivate itH5647 and resideH3427 in it, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.”

12And toH413 ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 I spokeH1696 the sameH3605 messageH1697H428H559: “PutH935 your necksH6677 under the yokeH5923 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894; serveH5647 himH853 and his peopleH5971, and liveH2421! 13WhyH4100 should youH859 and your peopleH5971 dieH4191 by swordH2719 and famineH7458 and plagueH1698, asH834 the LORDH3068 has decreedH1696 againstH413 any nationH1471 thatH834 does notH3808 serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894?

14Do notH408 listenH8085 toH413 the wordsH1697 of the prophetsH5030 who sayH559H413, ‘You must notH3808 serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894,’ forH3588 theyH1992 are prophesyingH5012 to you a lieH8267. 15ForH3588 I have notH3808 sent themH7971, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068, and yet theyH1992 are prophesyingH5012 falselyH8267 in My nameH8034; thereforeH4616 I will banishH5080 youH853, and you will perishH6—youH859 and the prophetsH5030 who prophesyH5012 to you.”

16Then I saidH1696 toH413 the priestsH3548 and toH413 allH3605 thisH2088 peopleH5971, “This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saysH559: Do notH408 listenH8085 toH413 the wordsH1697 of your prophetsH5030 who prophesyH5012 to you, sayingH559, ‘LookH2009, very soonH4120H3588 nowH6258 the articlesH3627 from the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 will be brought backH7725 from BabylonH894.’ TheyH1992 are prophesyingH5012 to you a lieH8267. 17Do notH408 listenH8085 to themH413. ServeH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 and liveH2421! WhyH4100 should thisH2063 cityH5892 becomeH1961 a ruinH2723?

18IfH518 theyH1992 are indeed prophetsH5030 andH518 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 isH3426 with themH854, let them nowH4994 plead withH6293 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635 that the articlesH3627 remainingH3498 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, in the palaceH1004 of the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and in JerusalemH3389, notH1115 be takenH935 to BabylonH894.

19ForH3588 this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635 saysH559 aboutH413 the pillarsH5982H5921, the seaH3220H5921, the basesH4350H5921, and the restH3499 of the articlesH3627 that remainH3498 in thisH2063 cityH5892, 20whichH834 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 did notH3808 takeH3947 when he carriedH1540 JeconiahH32043 sonH1121 of JehoiakimH3079 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 into exile from JerusalemH3389 to BabylonH894, along withH853 allH3605 the noblesH2715 of JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389. 21YesH3588, this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saysH559 aboutH5921 the articlesH3627 that remainH3498 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, in the palaceH1004 of the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and in JerusalemH3389: 22‘They will be carriedH935 to BabylonH894 and will remainH1961 thereH8033 untilH5704 the dayH3117 I attend to them againH6485,’ declaresH5002 the LORDH3068. ‘Then I will bring them backH5927 and restore themH7725 toH413 thisH2088 placeH4725.’”
