Jeremiah 8
1“At thatH1931 timeH6256,” declaresH5002 the LORDH3068, “the bonesH6106 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, the bonesH6106 of the officialsH8269, the bonesH6106 of the priestsH3548, the bonesH6106 of the prophetsH5030, and the bonesH6106 of the peopleH3427 of JerusalemH3389 will be removedH3318 from their gravesH6913. 2They will be exposedH7849 to the sunH8121 and moonH3394, and to allH3605 the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 whichH834 they have lovedH157, servedH5647, followedH1980H310, consultedH1875, and worshipedH7812. Their bones will notH3808 be gathered upH622 or buriedH6912, but will becomeH1961 like dungH1828 lying onH5921H6440 the groundH127. 3And whereverH3605H4725H7604 I have banished themH5080H8033, the remnantH7611 of thisH2063 evilH7451 familyH4940 will chooseH977 deathH4194 overH4480 lifeH2416,” declaresH5002 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635.
4So you are to tellH559 themH413 this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saysH559:
The People Respond
13I will take away their harvestH622H5486, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068. There will be noH369 grapesH6025 on the vineH1612, norH369 figsH8384 on the treeH8384, and even the leafH5929 will witherH5034. Whatever I have givenH5414 them will be lost to themH5674.”
Jeremiah Weeps for His People
17“ForH3588 beholdH2005, I will sendH7971 snakesH5175 among you, vipersH6848 thatH834 cannotH369 be charmedH3908, and they will biteH5391 youH853,” declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.
