The Blessed Death of the Righteous
1The righteousH6662 perishH6, and noH369 oneH376 takesH7760 it toH5921 heartH3820; devoutH2617 menH582 are taken awayH622, while no oneH369 considersH995 thatH3588 the righteousH6662 are taken awayH622 from the presenceH6440 of evilH7451.
God Condemns Idolatry
2Those who walkH1980 uprightlyH5228 enterH935 into peaceH7965; they find restH5117, lying down in deathH5921H4904.
3“But comeH7126 hereH2008, youH859 sonsH1121 of a sorceressH6049,you offspringH2233 of adulterersH5003 and prostitutesH2181!4WhomH5921H4310 are you mockingH6026?AtH5921 whomH4310 do you sneerH7337H6310 and stick outH748 your tongueH3956?Are youH859 notH3808 childrenH3206 of transgressionH6588,offspringH2233 of deceitH8267,5who burn with lustH2552 among the oaksH352,underH8478 everyH3605 luxuriantH7488 treeH6086,who slaughterH7819 your childrenH3206 in the valleysH5158,underH8478 the cleftsH5585 of the rocksH5553?6Your portionH2506 is among the smoothH2511 stones of the valleyH5158;indeed, theyH1992 are your lotH1486.EvenH1571 to them you have poured outH8210 a drink offeringH5262and offeredH5927 a grain offeringH4503.Should I relentH5162 because ofH5921 theseH428?
7OnH5921 a highH1364 and loftyH5375 hillH2022 you have madeH7760 your bedH4904,andH1571 thereH8033 you went upH5927 to offerH2076 sacrificesH2077.8BehindH310 the doorH1817 and doorpostH4201you have set upH7760 your memorialH2146.Forsaking MeH3588H854, you uncoveredH1540 your bedH4904;you climbed upH5927 and opened it wideH7337.And you have made a pactH3772 with those whose bedH4904 you have lovedH157;you have gazedH2372 upon their nakednessH3027.9You wentH7788 toH4428 Molech1 with oilH8081and multipliedH7235 your perfumesH7547.You have sentH7971 your envoysH67352 a great distanceH7350;you have descendedH8213H5704 even toH5704 Sheol itselfH7585.10You are weariedH3021 by your manyH7230 journeysH1870,but you did notH3808 sayH559, “There is no hopeH2976!”You foundH4672 renewalH2416 of your strengthH3027;thereforeH5921H3651 you did notH3808 grow weakH2470.
11WhomH4310 have you dreadedH1672 and fearedH3372,so thatH3588 you liedH3576 andH853 failedH3808to remember MeH2142 or take thisH7760 toH5921 heartH3820?Is it notH3808 because I haveH589 longH5769 been silentH2814thatH853 you do notH3808 fear MeH3372?12IH589 will exposeH5046 your righteousnessH6666 and your worksH4639,and they will notH3808 profit youH3276.13When you cry outH2199,let your companiesH6899 of idols deliver youH5337!YetH853 the windH7307 will carry offH5375 all of themH3605,a breathH1892 will take them awayH3947.But he who seeks refugeH2620 in Me will inheritH5157 the landH776and possessH3423 My holyH6944 mountainH2022.”
Healing for the Repentant
“Build it upH5549, build it upH5549, prepareH6437 the wayH1870,takeH7311 every obstacleH4383 out of the wayH1870 of My peopleH5971.”
15ForH3588 thusH3541 saysH559 the One who is highH7311 and lifted upH5375,who inhabitsH7931 eternityH5703, whose nameH8034 is HolyH6918:
“I dwellH7931 in a highH4791 and holy placeH6918,and withH854 the oppressedH1793 and humbleH8217 in spiritH7307,to restoreH2421 the spiritH7307 of the lowlyH8217and reviveH2421 the heartH3820 of the contriteH1792.16ForH3588 I will notH3808 accuse you foreverH7378H5769,nor will IH3808 alwaysH5331 be angryH7107;forH3588 then the spiritH7307 of man would grow weakH5848 before MeH6440—the breath of lifeH5397 IH589 have madeH6213.
17I was enragedH7107 by his sinfulH5771 greedH1215,so I struck himH5221 and hidH5641 My face in angerH7107;yet he keptH1980 turning backH7726to the desiresH1870 of his heartH3820.18I have seenH7200 his waysH1870,but I will heal himH7495;I will guide himH5148 and restoreH7999 comfortH5150to him and his mournersH57,19bringingH1254 praiseH5108 to their lipsH8193.PeaceH7965, peaceH7965 to those farH7350 and nearH7138,” saysH559 the LORDH3068,“and I will heal themH7495.”
