Isaiah 6

(Matthew 13:10–17; Mark 4:10–12; Acts 28:16–31)

1In the yearH8141 that KingH4428 UzziahH5818 diedH4194, I sawH7200 the LordH136 seatedH3427 onH5921 a throneH3678, highH7311 and exaltedH5375; and the train of His robeH77571 filledH4390 the templeH1964. 2AboveH4605 Him stoodH5975 seraphimH8314, eachH259 having sixH8337 wingsH3671: With twoH8147 wings they coveredH3680 their facesH6440, with twoH8147 they coveredH3680 their feetH7272, and with twoH8147 they were flyingH5774. 3And theyH2088 were calling outH7121 toH413 one anotherH2088H559:

“HolyH6918, holyH6918, holyH6918 is the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635;allH3605 the earthH776 is fullH4393 of His gloryH3519.”

4At the soundH6963 of their voicesH7121 the doorpostsH520 and thresholdsH5592 shookH5128, and the templeH1004 was filledH4390 with smokeH6227.

5Then I saidH559:

“WoeH188 is me,forH3588 I am ruinedH1820,becauseH3588 IH595 am a manH376 of uncleanH2931 lipsH8193dwellingH3427 amongH8432 a peopleH5971 of uncleanH2931 lipsH8193H595;forH3588 my eyesH5869 have seenH7200 the KingH4428,the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635.”

6Then oneH259 ofH4480 the seraphimH8314 flewH5774 to meH413, and in his handH3027 was a glowing coalH7531 that he had takenH3947 with tongsH4457 fromH5921 the altarH4196. 7And with it he touchedH5060H5921 my mouthH6310 and saidH559:

“Now thatH2009 thisH2088H5921 has touchedH5060 your lipsH8193,your iniquityH5771 is removedH5493and your sinH2403 is atoned forH3722.”

8Then I heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LordH136 sayingH559:

“WhomH4310 shall I sendH7971?WhoH4310 will goH1980 for Us?”

And I saidH559:

“Here am IH2005. Send meH7971!”

9And He repliedH559:

“GoH1980 and tellH559 thisH2088 peopleH5971,‘Be ever hearingH8085, but neverH408 understandingH995;be ever seeingH7200, but neverH408 perceivingH3045.’210Make the heartsH3820 of thisH2088 peopleH5971 callousedH8080;deafenH3513 their earsH241 and closeH8173 their eyesH5869.OtherwiseH6435 they might seeH7200 with their eyesH5869,hearH8085 with their earsH241,understandH995 with their heartsH3824,and turnH7725 and be healedH7495.3”

11Then I askedH559:

“How longH5704H4970, O LordH136?”

And He repliedH559:

“UntilH5704 the citiesH5892 lie ruinedH7582and withoutH369 inhabitantH3427,until the housesH1004 are left unoccupiedH369H120and the landH127 is desolateH7582 and ravagedH8077,12until the LORDH3068 has driven menH120 far awayH7368and the landH776 is utterlyH7231 forsakenH5805H7130.13And thoughH5750 a tenthH6224 remains in the land,it will beH1961 burnedH1197 againH7725.As the terebinthH424 and oakH437 leave stumpsH4678 when felledH7995,so the holyH6944 seedH2233 will be a stumpH4678 in the land.”
