Evil Leaders Rebuked
1The righteousH6662 personH6662 perishesH6, and noH369 oneH376 1takesH7760 it to heartH3820; And devoutH2617 peopleH376 are takenH622 awayH622, while noH369 oneH369 understandsH995. For the righteousH6662 personH6662 is takenH622 awayH622 from 2evilH7463,2He entersH935 into peaceH7965; They restH5117 in their 3bedsH4904, Each one who 4walkedH1980 in his uprightH5228 wayH5228.3“But comeH7126 hereH2008, you sonsH1121 of a 5sorceressH6049, 6OffspringH2233 of an adultererH5003 and 7a 8prostituteH2181!4OfH5921 whomH4310 do you makeH6026 funH6026? AgainstH5921 whomH4310 do you openH7337 wideH7337 your mouthH6310 And stickH748 outH748 your tongueH3956? Are you not childrenH3206 of 9rebellionH6588, OffspringH2233 of deceitH8267,5Who inflameH2552 yourselves among the 10oaksH352, 11UnderH8478 everyH3605 luxuriantH7488 treeH6086, Who 12slaughterH7819 the childrenH3206 in the 13ravinesH5158, UnderH8478 the cleftsH5585 of the rocksH5553?6Among the 1415smoothH2509 stones of the 16ravineH5158 Is your portionH2506, 17they are your lotH1486; EvenH1571 to them you have 18pouredH8210 outH8210 a drinkH5262 offeringH5262, You have madeH5927 a grain offeringH4503. Should I 1920relentH5162 of theseH428 thingsH428?7On a 21highH1364 and loftyH5375 mountainH2022 You have 22madeH7760 your bedH4904. You alsoH1571 wentH5927 upH5927 thereH8033 to offerH2076 sacrificeH2077.8BehindH310 the doorH1817 and the doorpostH4201 You have setH7760 upH7760 your signH2146; IndeedH3588, far removedH4480 from Me, you have 23uncoveredH1540 yourself, And have goneH5927 upH5927 and madeH7337 your bedH4904 wideH7337. And you have madeH3772 an agreement for yourself with them, You have lovedH157 their bedH4904, You have lookedH2372 at their 24manhoodH3027.9You have journeyedH7788 to the kingH4428 with oilH8081 And increasedH7235 your perfumesH7547; You have 25sentH7971 your messengersH6735 a great distanceH7350 And madeH8213 them goH8213 downH8213 to 26SheolH7585.10You were tiredH3021 outH3021 by the lengthH7230 of your roadH1870, Yet you did not sayH559, ‘27It is hopelessH2976!’ You foundH4672 28renewedH2416 strengthH3027, ThereforeH5921H3651 you did not 29faintH2470.
11“Of 30whomH4310 wereH1672 you worriedH1672 and fearfulH3372 WhenH3588 you liedH3576, and did 31not rememberH2142 Me 32NorH3808 33giveH7760 Me a thoughtH3820? Was I not silentH2814, even for a longH5769 timeH5769, So you do not fearH3372 Me?12I will 34declareH5046 your righteousnessH6666 and your 35deedsH4639, And they will not benefitH3276 you.13When you cryH2199 outH2199, 36let your collectionH6899 of idols saveH5337 you. But the windH7307 will carryH5375 them allH3605 upH5375, And a breathH1892 will takeH3947 them away. But the one who 37takesH2620 refugeH2620 in Me will 38inheritH5157 the landH776 And 39possessH3423 My holyH6944 mountainH2022.”
14And it will be saidH559, “40BuildH5549 upH5549, buildH5549 upH5549, prepareH6437 the wayH1870, RemoveH7311 every obstacleH4383 from the wayH1870 of My peopleH5971.”15For thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the 41highH7311 and exaltedH5375 One Who 4243livesH7931 foreverH5703, whose nameH8034 is HolyH6918, saysH559: “I 44dwellH7931 in a highH4791 and holyH6918 place, And also with the 45contriteH1793 and lowlyH8217 of spiritH7307 In order to 46reviveH2421 the spiritH7307 of the lowlyH8217 And to reviveH2421 the heartH3820 of the contriteH1792.16For I will 47not contendH7378 foreverH5769, 48NorH3808 will I alwaysH5331 beH7107 angryH7107; For the spiritH7307 would growH5848 faintH5848 beforeH4480H6440 Me, And the 49breathH5397 of those whom I have madeH6213.17Because of the wrongfulH5771 actH5771 of his 50unjustH1215 gainH1215 I wasH7107 angryH7107 and struckH5221 him; I hidH5641 My face and wasH7107 angryH7107, And he wentH1980 on 51turningH7726 awayH7726, in the wayH1870 of his heartH3820.18I have seenH7200 his waysH1870, but I will 52healH7495 him; I will 53leadH5148 him and 54restoreH7999 comfortH5150 to him and to his mournersH57,19CreatingH1254 the 5556praiseH5204 of the lipsH8193. 57PeaceH7965, peaceH7965 to him who is 58farH7350 awayH7350 and to him who is nearH7138,” SaysH559 the LordH3068, “and I will healH7495 him.”20But the 59wickedH7563 are like the tossingH1644 seaH3220, For it cannotH3201H3808 beH8252 quietH8252, And its watersH4325 tossH1644 upH1644 refuseH7516 and mudH2916.21“60ThereH369 isH369 noH369 peaceH7965,” saysH559 61my GodH430, “for the wickedH7563.”
