Judgments and Promises
(Romans 10:1–21)
1“I revealed MyselfH1875 to those who did notH3808 ask for MeH7592;I was foundH4672 by those who did notH3808 seek MeH1245.1ToH413 a nationH1471 that did notH3808 callH7121 My nameH8034,I saidH559, ‘Here I amH2005! Here I amH2005!’2All day longH3605H3117 I have held outH6566 My handsH3027toH413 an obstinateH5637 peopleH59712who walkH1980 in the wrongH3808H2896 pathH1870,who followH310 their own imaginationsH4284,3to a peopleH5971 who continuallyH8548 provoke MeH3707 toH5921 My faceH6440,sacrificingH2076 in the gardensH1593and burning incenseH6999 onH5921 altars of brickH3843,4sittingH3427 among the gravesH6913,spending nightsH3885 in secret placesH5341,eatingH398 the meatH1320 of pigsH2386H6564and polluted brothH6292 from their bowlsH3627.5They sayH559, ‘KeepH7126 to yourselfH413;do notH408 come nearH5066 me, forH3588 I am holier than youH6942!’Such peopleH428 are smokeH6227 in My nostrilsH639,a fireH784 that burnsH3344 all day longH3605H3117.6BeholdH2009, it is writtenH3789 before MeH6440:I will notH3808 keep silentH2814, butH3588H518 I will repayH7999;I will pay it backH7999 intoH5921 their lapsH2436,7bothH3162 for your iniquitiesH5771andH5771 for those of your fathersH1,”saysH559 the LORDH3068.“BecauseH834 they burned incenseH6999 onH5921 the mountainsH2022and scorned MeH2778 onH5921 the hillsH1389,I will measureH4058 into their lapsH2436full payment for their formerH7223H5921 deedsH6468.”8This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saysH559:
“AsH834 the new wineH8492 is foundH4672 in a cluster of grapesH811,and men sayH559, ‘Do notH408 destroy itH7843, forH3588 it contains a blessingH1293,’soH3651 I will actH6213 on behalfH4616 of My servantsH5650;I will notH1115 destroy themH7843 allH3605.9And I will bring forthH3318 descendantsH2233 from JacobH3290,and heirsH3423 from JudahH3063;My electH972 will possessH3423 My mountainsH2022,3and My servantsH5650 will dwellH7931 thereH8033.10SharonH8289 will becomeH1961 a pastureH5116 for flocksH6629,and the ValleyH6010 of AchorH5911 a resting placeH7258 for herdsH1241,for My peopleH5971 whoH834 seek MeH1875.
11But youH859 who forsakeH5800 the LORDH3068,who forgetH7913 My holyH6944 mountainH2022,who setH6186 a tableH7979 for FortuneH14084and fillH4390 bowls of mixed wineH4469 for DestinyH4507,512I will destineH4487 youH853 for the swordH2719,and you will allH3605 kneel downH3766 to be slaughteredH2874,becauseH3282 I calledH7121 and you did notH3808 answerH6030,I spokeH1696 and you did notH3808 listenH8085;you didH6213 evilH7451 in My sightH5869and choseH977 that in whichH834 I did notH3808 delightH2654.”
13ThereforeH3651 this is whatH3541 the LordH136 GODH3069H2009 saysH559:
“My servantsH5650 will eatH398,but youH859 will go hungryH7456H2009;My servantsH5650 will drinkH8354,but youH859 will go thirstyH6770H2009;My servantsH5650 will rejoiceH8055,but youH859 will be put to shameH954.14My servantsH5650 will shout for joyH7442 with a gladH2898 heartH3820,but youH859 will cry outH6817 with a heavyH3511 heartH3820and wailH3213 with a brokenH7667 spiritH7307.
15You will leave behindH5117 your nameH8034as a curseH7621 for My chosen onesH972,and the LordH136 GODH3069 will slay youH4191;but to His servantsH5650 He will giveH7121 anotherH312 nameH8034.
A New Heaven and a New Earth
(Revelation 21:1–8)
16WhoeverH834 invokes a blessingH1288 in the landH776 willH1288 do so by the GodH430 of truthH543, and whoever takes an oathH7650 in the landH776 will swearH7650 by the GodH430 of truthH543. ForH3588 the formerH7223H3588 troublesH6869 will be forgottenH7911 and hiddenH5641 from My sightH5869.
17ForH3588 beholdH2005, I will createH1254newH2319 heavensH8064 and a newH2319 earthH776.6The former thingsH7223 will notH3808 be rememberedH2142,norH3808 will they comeH5927 toH5921 mindH3820.18But be gladH7797 and rejoiceH1523 foreverH5703H5704in whatH834 IH589 createH1254;forH3588H2005 I will createH1254 JerusalemH3389 to be a joyH1525and its peopleH5971 to be a delightH4885H518.19I will rejoiceH1523 in JerusalemH3389and take delightH7797 in My peopleH5971.The soundsH6963 of weepingH1065H6963 and cryingH2201will noH3808 longerH5750 be heardH8085 in her.
20NoH3808 longerH5750 will a nursing infantH5764 liveH1961H8033 but a few daysH3117,or an old manH2205 failH3808 to live outH4390 his yearsH3117.ForH3588 the youthH5288 will dieH4191 at a hundredH3967 yearsH1121H8141,and he who failsH2398 to reach a hundredH3967H1121H8141will be considered accursedH7043.21They will buildH1129 housesH1004 and dwell in themH3427;they will plantH5193 vineyardsH3754 and eatH398 their fruitH6529.
22No longerH3808 will they build housesH1129 for othersH312 to inhabitH3427,norH3808 plantH5193 for othersH312 to eatH398.ForH3588 as is the lifetimeH3117 of a treeH6086,so will be the daysH3117 of My peopleH5971,and My chosen onesH972 will fully enjoyH1086the workH4639 of their handsH3027.
23They will notH3808 laborH3021 in vainH7385or bear childrenH3205 doomed to disasterH928;forH3588 theyH1992 will be a peopleH2233 blessedH1288 by the LORDH3068—they and their descendantsH6631 with themH854.24Even beforeH2962 they callH7121, IH589 will answerH6030,and while theyH1992 are stillH5750 speakingH1696, IH589 will hearH8085.
