Genesis 4:8-16

8Then CainH7014 saidH559 toH413 his brotherH251 AbelH1893, “Let us go out to the field.”1 AndH1961 while they wereH1961 in the fieldH7704, CainH7014 rose upH6965 againstH413 his brotherH251 AbelH1893 and killed himH2026.

9And the LORDH3068 saidH559 toH413 CainH7014, “WhereH335 is your brotherH251 AbelH1893?”

“I do notH3808 knowH3045!” he answeredH559. “Am IH595 my brother’sH251 keeperH8104?”

10“WhatH4100 have you doneH6213?” repliedH559 the LORD. “The voiceH6963 of your brother’sH251 bloodH1818 cries outH6817 to MeH413 fromH4480 the groundH127. 11NowH6258 youH859 are cursed and banishedH779 fromH4480 the groundH127, whichH834 has openedH6475 its mouthH6310 to receiveH3947 your brother’sH251 bloodH1818 from your handH3027. 12WhenH3588 you tillH5647 the groundH127, it will noH3808 longerH3254 yieldH5414 its produceH3581 to you. You will beH1961 a fugitiveH5128 and a wandererH5110 on the earthH776.”

13But CainH7014 saidH559 toH413 the LORDH3068, “My punishmentH57712 is greaterH1419 than I can bearH5375. 14BeholdH2005, thisH853 dayH3117 You have driven meH1644 from the faceH6440 of the earthH127, and fromH5921 Your faceH6440 I will be hiddenH5641; I will beH1961 a fugitiveH5128 and a wandererH5110 on the earthH776, andH1961 whoeverH3605 finds meH4672 will kill meH2026.”

15“Not soH3651!”3 repliedH559 the LORDH3068. “If anyoneH3605 slaysH2026 CainH7014, then Cain will be avengedH5358 sevenfoldH7659.” And the LORDH3068 placedH7760 a markH226 on CainH7014, so that no oneH1115H3605 who found himH4672 would killH5221 himH853.

16So CainH7014 went outH3318 from the presenceH6440 of the LORDH3068 and settledH3427 in the landH776 of NodH5113,4 eastH6926 of EdenH5731.
