7And ErH6147, Judah’s first-born, wasH1961 wickedH7451 in the sight of Jehovah; and Jehovah slew him. 8And JudahH3063 saidH559 unto OnanH209, GoH935 in unto thy brother’sH251 wifeH802, and perform the duty of a husband’sH2992 brotherH251 unto her, and raiseH6965 up seedH2233 to thy brotherH251. 9And OnanH209 knewH3045 that the seedH2233 would not beH1961 his; and it cameH935 to pass, when he wentH935 in unto his brother’sH251 wifeH802, that he spilled it on the groundH776, lest he should giveH5414 seedH2233 to his brotherH251. 10And the thing which he did was evilH7489 in the sight of Jehovah: and he slew him alsoH1571. 11Then saidH559 JudahH3063 to TamarH8559 his daughter-in-law, RemainH3427 a widowH490 in thy father’sH1 houseH1004, till ShelahH7956 my sonH1121 be grownH1431 up; for he saidH559, LestH6435 he alsoH1571 dieH4191, like his brethren.
