Deuteronomy 28:47-57
47Because thou servedst not Jehovah thy GodH430 with joyfulness, and with gladnessH8057 of heartH3824, by reason of the abundanceH7230 of all things; 48therefore shalt thou serveH5647 thine enemiesH341 that Jehovah shall sendH7971 against thee, in hungerH7458, and in thirstH6772, and in nakednessH5903, and in want of all things: and he shall putH5414 a yokeH5923 of ironH1270 upon thy neckH6677, until he have destroyedH8045 thee. 49Jehovah will bring a nationH1471 against thee from farH7350, from the endH7097 of the earthH776, as the eagleH5404 flieth; a nationH1471 whose tongueH3956 thou shalt not understand; 50a nationH1471 of fierceH5794 countenance, that shall not regard the person of the oldH2205, nor show favor to the youngH5288, 51and shall eatH398 the fruitH6529 of thy cattleH929, and the fruitH6529 of thy groundH127, until thou be destroyedH8045; that also shall not leaveH7604 thee grainH1715, newH8492 wineH8492, or oilH3323, the increase of thy cattleH929, or the youngH6251 of thy flockH6629, until they have caused thee to perishH6. 52And they shall besiege thee in all thy gatesH8179, until thy highH1364 and fortifiedH1219 wallsH2346 comeH3381 down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy landH776; and they shall besiege thee in all thy gatesH8179 throughout all thy landH776, which Jehovah thy GodH430 hath givenH5414 thee. 53And thou shalt eatH398 the fruitH6529 of thine own bodyH1320, the fleshH1320 of thy sonsH1121 and of thy daughtersH1323, whom Jehovah thy GodH430 hath givenH5414 thee, in the siegeH4692 and in the distressH4689 wherewith thine enemiesH341 shall distressH4689 thee. 54The manH376 that is tenderH7390 among you, and veryH3966 delicateH6028, his eyeH5869 shall be evilH7489 toward his brotherH251, and toward the wifeH802 of his bosomH2436, and toward the remnant of his children whom he hath remainingH3498; 55so that he will not giveH5414 to any of them of the fleshH1320 of his children whom he shall eatH398, because he hath nothing leftH7604 him, in the siegeH4692 and in the distressH4689 wherewith thine enemyH341 shall distressH4689 thee in all thy gatesH8179. 56The tenderH7390 and delicateH6028 woman among you, who would not adventure to setH3322 the soleH3709 of her footH7272 upon the groundH776 for delicateness and tenderness, her eyeH5869 shall be evilH7489 toward the husbandH376 of her bosomH2436, and toward her sonH1121, and toward her daughterH1323, 57and toward her youngH1121 one that cometh out from between her feetH7272, and toward her children whom she shall bearH3205; for she shall eatH398 them for want of all things secretly, in the siegeH4692 and in the distressH4689 wherewith thine enemyH341 shall distressH4689 thee in thy gatesH8179.
