15He will eatיֹאכֵ֑לyo.KhelH398curdsחֶמְאָ֥הchem.'AhH2529and honeyוּדְבַ֖שׁu.de.VashH1706at the time He knowsלְדַעְתּ֛וֹle.da'.ToH3045enoughto refuseמָא֥וֹסma.'osH3988evilבָּרָ֖עba.Ra'H7451and chooseוּבָח֥וֹרu.va.ChorH977goodבַּטּֽוֹב׃ba.TovH2896.

16For beforeבְּטֶ֨רֶםbe.Te.remH2962the boyהַנַּ֛עַרha.Na.'arH5288knowsיֵדַ֥עye.Da'H3045enoughto refuseמָאֹ֥סma.'OsH3988evilבָּרָ֖עba.Ra'H7451and chooseוּבָחֹ֣רu.va.ChorH977goodבַּטּ֑וֹבba.TovH2896,the landהָאֲדָמָה֙ha.'a.da.MahH127whoseאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834twoשְׁנֵ֥יshe.NeiH8147kingsמְלָכֶֽיהָ׃me.la.Khei.haH4428you dreadקָ֔ץKatzH6973will be abandonedתֵּעָזֵ֤בte.'a.ZevH5800.

17The Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068will bringיָבִ֨יאya.Vi'H935on you, on your peopleעַמְּךָ֮'a.me.KhaH5971,and on your father’sאָבִיךָ֒'a.vi.KhaH1houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004suchאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834daysיָמִים֙ya.MimH3117as have not comeבָ֔אוּVa.'uH935sinceH4480the dayלְמִיּ֥וֹםle.mi.YomH3117thatEphraimאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669separatedסוּר־sur-H5493from Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063--the days of thekingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּֽׁוּר׃ פ'a.ShurH804.”

18On that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068willwhistleיִשְׁרֹ֤קyish.RokH8319for the flyלַזְּב֔וּבla.ze.VuvH2070that is in theremotestH7097partH7097of the canalsיְאֹרֵ֣יye.'o.ReiH2975of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and for the beeוְלַ֨דְּבוֹרָ֔הve.La.de.vo.RahH1682that is in the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Assyriaאַשּֽׁוּר׃'a.ShurH804.

19They will allכֻלָּם֙khu.LamH3605comeוּבָ֨אוּu.Va.'uH935and settleוְנָח֤וּve.na.ChuH5117on the steepהַבַּתּ֔וֹתha.ba.TotH1327ravinesבְּנַחֲלֵ֣יbe.na.cha.LeiH5158, on theledgesוּבִנְקִיקֵ֖יu.vin.ki.KeiH5357of the cliffsהַסְּלָעִ֑יםha.se.la.'ImH5553,on allוּבְכֹל֙u.ve.KholH3605the thornH5285bushesH5285,and on allוּבְכֹ֖לu.ve.KholH3605the wateringH5097placesH5097.

20On that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117the Lordאֲדֹנָי֩'a.do.NaiH136willshaveיְגַלַּ֣חye.ga.LachH1548with arazorבְּתַ֨עַרbe.Ta.'arH8593,hiredהַשְּׂכִירָ֜הha.se.khi.RahH7917from regionsH5676beyondH5676the EuphratesRiverנָהָר֙na.HarH5104(that is,with the kingבְּמֶ֣לֶךְbe.Me.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֔וּר'a.ShurH804),the headהָרֹ֖אשׁha.RoshH7218and the hairוְשַׂ֣עַרve.Sa.'arH8181of the legsהָרַגְלָ֑יִםha.rag.La.yimH7272;and it will alsoוְגַ֥םve.GamH1571removeתִּסְפֶּֽה׃ סtis.PehH5595the beardהַזָּקָ֖ןha.za.KanH2206.

21Now on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117a personאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376may keepH2421aliveיְחַיֶּה־ye.chai.yeh-H2421only aheiferעֶגְלַ֥ת בָּקָ֖ר'eg.Lat ba.KarH5697 H1241and a pairוּשְׁתֵּי־u.she.tei-H8147of sheepצֹֽאן׃TzonH6629;

22and becauseH4480of the abundanceמֵרֹ֛בme.RoH7230of the milkחָלָ֖בcha.LavH2461producedעֲשׂ֥וֹתa.SotH6213he will eatיֹאכַ֣לyo.KhalH398curdsחֶמְאָ֑הchem.'AhH2529,for everyoneכָּל־kol-H3605who is leftהַנּוֹתָ֖רha.no.TarH3498withinבְּקֶ֥רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776will eatיֹאכֵ֔לyo.KhelH398curdsחֶמְאָ֤הchem.'AhH2529and honeyוּדְבַשׁ֙u.de.VashH1706.

23And it will comeH1961aboutH1961on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,that everyכָל־khol-H3605placeמָק֗וֹםma.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁ֧ר שָּׁ֛ם'a.Sher shamH834 H8033there used to be a thousandאֶ֥לֶף'E.lefH505vinesגֶּ֖פֶןGe.fenH1612, valuedat a thousandבְּאֶ֣לֶףbe.'E.lefH505shekelsof silverכָּ֑סֶףKa.sefH3701,will becomeH1961briarsלַשָּׁמִ֥ירla.sha.MirH8068and thornsוְלַשַּׁ֖יִתve.la.Sha.yitH7898.

24Peoplewill comeיָ֣בוֹאYa.Vo'H935thereשָׁ֑מָּהSha.mahH8033with bowsוּבַקֶּ֖שֶׁתu.va.Ke.shetH7198and arrowsבַּחִצִּ֥יםba.chi.TzimH2671,becauseכִּי־ki-H3588allכָל־khol-H3605the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776will be briarsשָׁמִ֥ירsha.MirH8068and thornsוָשַׁ֖יִתva.Sha.yitH7898.

25As for allוְכֹ֣לve.KholH3605the hillsהֶהָרִ֗יםhe.ha.RimH2022whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834used to be cultivatedיֵעָ֣דֵר֔וּןye.'A.de.RunH5737with the plowבַּמַּעְדֵּר֙ba.ma'.DerH4576,you will not goתָב֣וֹאta.Vo'H935thereשָׁ֔מָּהSha.mahH8033for fearיִרְאַ֖תyir.'AtH3374of briarsשָׁמִ֣ירsha.MirH8068and thornsוָשָׁ֑יִתva.Sha.yitH7898;but they will becomeוְהָיָה֙ve.ha.YahH1961a placeH4916forH4916pasturingH4916oxenשׁ֔וֹרShorH7794and for sheepשֶֽׂה׃ פSehH7716to trampleוּלְמִרְמַ֖סu.le.mir.MasH4823.
