12and fromG2547thereG2547toPhilippiΦιλίππους,PhilippousG5375,whichἥτιςhētisG3748is a leadingG4413cityπόλις,polisG4172of the districtμερίδοςmeridosG3310ofMacedoniaΜακεδονίαςMakedoniasG3109, a Romancolonyκολωνία.kolōniaG2862;and we were spendingδιατρίβοντεςdiatribontesG1304someτινάς.tinasG5100daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250in thisταύτῃtautēG3778cityπόλειpoleiG4172.

14A womanγυνὴgunēG1135namedὀνόματιonomatiG3686LydiaΛυδία,LudiaG3070was listeningἤκουενēkouenG191; she wasa sellerG4211ofG4211purpleG4211fabricsG4211from the cityπόλεωςpoleōsG4172ofThyatiraΘυατείρωνThuateirōnG2363, anda worshiperσεβομένηsebomenēG4576of Godθεόν,theonG2316.The LordκύριοςkuriosG2962openedδιήνοιξενdiēnoixenG1272her heartκαρδίανkardianG2588to respondπροσέχεινprosecheinG4337to the thingsG2980spokenG2980by PaulΠαύλου.PaulouG3972.
15NowδὲdeG1161whenὡςhōsG5613she andher householdοἶκοςoikosG3624had been baptizedἐβαπτίσθηebaptisthēG907,she urgedπαρεκάλεσενparekalesenG3870us,sayingλέγουσα·legousaG3004, “IfεἰeiG1487you have judgedκεκρίκατέkekrikateG2919me to be faithfulπιστὴνpistēnG4103to the LordκυρίῳkuriōG2962,comeεἰσελθόντεςeiselthontesG1525into my houseοἶκόνoikonG3624and stayμένετε·meneteG3306.”And she prevailedπαρεβιάσατοparebiasatoG3849upon us.
16It happenedἘγένετοEgenetoG1096that as we were goingπορευομένωνporeuomenōnG4198tothe placeG4335of prayerπροσευχήν,proseuchēnG4335,a slaveG3814womanG3814who hadἔχουσανechousanG2192a spiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151of divinationπύθωναputhōnaG4436metὑπαντῆσαιhupantēsaiG5221us, whoἥτιςhētisG3748was bringingπαρεῖχενpareichenG3930greatπολλὴνpollēnG4183profitἐργασίανergasianG2039to her mastersκυρίοιςkurioisG2962by fortune-tellingμαντευομένη.manteuomenēG3132.
17She followedG2628PaulΠαύλῳPaulōG3972and us and criedἔκραζενekrazenG2896outG2896repeatedly,sayingλέγουσα·legousaG3004, “TheseG3778menἄνθρωποιanthrōpoiG444are bond-servantsδοῦλοιdouloiG1401ofthe MostὑψίστουhupsistouG5310HighG5310GodθεοῦtheouG2316,whoοἵτινεςoitinesG3748are proclaimingκαταγγέλλουσινkatangellousinG2605to you a wayὁδὸνhodonG3598of salvationσωτηρίας.sōtēriasG4991.”
