2And hehad JamesἸάκωβονIakōbonG2385the brotherἀδελφὸνadelphonG80of JohnἸωάννουIōannouG2491executedἀνεῖλενaneilenG337with a swordμαχαίρῃ.machairēG3162.

3When he sawG3708that itpleasedἀρεστόνarestonG701the JewsἸουδαίοις,IoudaioisG2453,he proceededπροσέθετοprosethetoG4369to arrestσυλλαβεῖνsullabeinG4815PeterΠέτρον,PetronG4074asG2532wellG2532. (NowG1161these werethe daysἡμέραιhēmeraiG2250of Unleavenedἀζύμων,azumōnG106BreadG106.)

4When he had arrestedπιάσαςpiasasG4084him, he putἔθετοethetoG5087him in prisonφυλακὴνphulakēnG5438,turningG3860him overG3860to fourτέσσαρσινtessarsinG5064squadsτετραδίοιςtetradioisG5069of soldiersστρατιωτῶνstratiōtōnG4757to guardφυλάσσεινphulasseinG5442him, intendingβουλόμενοςboulomenosG1014onlyafterμετὰmetaG3326the PassoverπάσχαpaschaG3957to bringἀναγαγεῖνanagageinG321him before the peopleλαῷ.¶laōG2992.

5SoοὖνounG3767PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074was keptἐτηρεῖτοetēreitoG5083in the prisonφυλακῇ·phulakēaG5438,but prayerπροσευχὴproseuchēG4335for him was beingG1096madeG1096to GodθεὸνtheonG2316intenselyἐκτενῶςektenōsG1619by the churchἐκκλησίαςekklēsiasG1577.

6Onthe veryἐκείνῃekeinēG1565nightνυκτὶnuktiG3571whenὅτεhoteG3753HerodἩρῴδης,HērōdēsG2264wasG3195aboutG3195toG3195bringπροαγαγεῖνproagageinG4254him forwardG4254,PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074was sleepingκοιμώμενοςkoimōmenosG2837betweenμεταξὺmetaxuG3342twoδύοduoG1417soldiersστρατιωτῶνstratiōtōnG4757,boundδεδεμένοςdedemenosG1210with twoδυσίν,dusinG1417chainsἁλύσεσινhalusesinG254,and guardsφύλακέςphulakesG5441in frontπρὸproG4253of the doorθύραςthurasG2374were watchingG5083overG5083the prisonφυλακήν.phulakēnG5438.

7And beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,an angelἄγγελοςangelosG32of the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962suddenlystoodG2186nearG2186Peter,and a lightφῶςphōsG5457shoneἔλαμψενelampsenG2989in the cellοἰκήματι·oikēmatiG3612;and he struckπατάξαςpataxasG3960Peter’sΠέτρουPetrouG4074sideπλευρὰνpleuranG4125and wokeἤγειρενēgeirenG1453him, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “GetG450upG450quicklyτάχει.tacheiG5034.” Andhis chainsἁλύσειςhaluseisG254fellG1601offG1601his handsχειρῶν.cheirōnG5495.

8And the angelἄγγελοςangelosG32saidλέγειlegeiG3004to him, “PutG2224onG2224your beltG2224andstrapG5265onG5265your sandalsσανδάλιάsandaliaG4547.”And he didἐποίησενepoiēsenG4160soοὕτως.houtōsG3779.And he saidG3004to him, “WrapG4016your cloakἱμάτιόνhimationG2440aroundG4016you and followἀκολούθειakoloutheiG190me.”

9And he wentG1831outG1831and continued to followἠκολούθειēkoloutheiG190, and yethe did not knowG3609that what was beingG1096doneG1096by the angelἀγγέλου,angelouG32was realἀληθέςalēthesG227,but thoughtἐδόκειedokeiG1380he was seeingβλέπειν.blepeinG991a visionὅραμαhoramaG3705.
