17When JosephH3130 sawH7200 that his fatherH1 1laidH7896 his rightH3225 handH3027 on Ephraim’sH669 headH7218, it displeasedH7489 him; and he graspedH8551 his father’sH1 handH3027 to removeH5493 it from Ephraim’sH669 headH7218 to Manasseh’sH4519 headH7218. 18JosephH3130 saidH559 to his fatherH1, “Not soH3651, my fatherH1, for thisH2088 oneH2088 is the firstbornH1060. PlaceH7760 your rightH3225 handH3225 on his headH7218.” 19But his fatherH1 refusedH3985 and saidH559, “I knowH3045, my sonH1121, I knowH3045; he alsoH1571 will becomeH1961 a peopleH5971 and he alsoH1571 will be greatH1431. HoweverH199, his youngerH6996 brotherH251 shall be greaterH1431 thanH4480 he, and 2his 3descendantsH2233 shall becomeH1961 a 4multitudeH4393 of nationsH1471.” 205He blessedH1288 them that dayH3117, sayingH559, “By you IsraelH3478 will pronounceH1288 blessingH1288, sayingH559, ‘May GodH430 makeH7760 you like EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519!’” Thus he putH7760 EphraimH669 beforeH6440 ManassehH4519.
