Genesis 35:5-18
5As they journeyedH5265, there was 12a greatH430 terrorH2847 upon the citiesH5892 whichH834 were aroundH5439 them, and they did not pursueH7291 the sonsH1121 of JacobH3290. 6So JacobH3290 cameH935 to 3LuzH3870 (that is, BethelH1008), whichH834 is in the landH776 of CanaanH3667, he and allH3605 the peopleH5971 whoH834 were with him. 74He builtH1129 an altarH4196 thereH8033, and calledH7121 the placeH4725 5El-bethelH416, becauseH3588 thereH8033 GodH430 had revealedH1540 Himself to him when he fledH1272 6from his brotherH251. 8Now 7DeborahH1683, Rebekah’sH7259 nurseH3243, diedH4191, and she was buriedH6912 belowH4480H8478 BethelH1008 underH8478 the oakH437; it was namedH7121H8034 8Allon-bacuthH439.
9Then GodH430 appearedH7200 to JacobH3290 againH5750 when he cameH935 from Paddan-aramH6307, and He 9blessedH1288 him. 1010GodH430 saidH559 to him, “Your nameH8034 is JacobH3290; 11You shall noH3808 longerH5750 be calledH7121 JacobH3290, But IsraelH3478 shall be your nameH8034.” Thus He calledH7121 12him IsraelH3478. 11GodH430 also saidH559 to him, “I am 1314GodH410 AlmightyH7706; 15Be fruitfulH6509 and multiplyH7235; A nationH1471 and a 16companyH6951 of nationsH1471 shall 17comeH1961 from you, And 18kingsH4428 shall 19comeH3318 forthH3318 from 20you.1221The landH776 whichH834 I gaveH5414 to AbrahamH85 and IsaacH3327, I will giveH5414 it to you, And I will giveH5414 the landH776 to your 22descendantsH2233 after you.” 13Then 23GodH430 wentH5927 up from him in the placeH4725 whereH834 He had spokenH1696 with him. 14JacobH3290 setH5324 up 24a pillarH4676 in the placeH4725 whereH834 He had spokenH1696 with him, a pillarH4676 of stoneH68, and he pouredH5258 out a drinkH5262 offeringH5262 on it; he also pouredH3332 oilH8081 on it. 15So JacobH3290 namedH7121H8034 the placeH4725 whereH834H8033 GodH430 had spokenH1696 with him, 2526BethelH1008.
16Then they journeyedH5265 from BethelH1008; and when there was stillH5750 someH3530 distanceH3530H776 to goH935 to 27EphrathH672, RachelH7354 began to giveH3205 birthH3205 and she 28sufferedH7185 severeH7185 laborH3205. 17When she was in severeH7185 laborH3205 the midwifeH3205 saidH559 to her, “Do not fearH3372, for nowH1571H2088 29you have another sonH1121.” 18It cameH1961 about as her soulH5315 was departingH3318 (for she diedH4191), that she namedH7121H8034 him 30Ben-oniH1126; but his fatherH1 calledH7121 him 31BenjaminH1144.
