Genesis 27:28-46
28Now may 1GodH430 giveH5414 you of the dewH2919 of heavenH8064, And of the 2fatnessH8082 of the earthH776, And an abundanceH7230 of grainH1715 and newH8492 wineH8492;293May peoplesH5971 serveH5647 you, And nationsH3816 bowH7812 downH7812 to you; 4Be masterH1376 of your brothersH251, 5And may your mother’sH517 sonsH1121 bowH7812 downH7812 to you. 6CursedH779 be those who curseH779 you, And blessedH1288 be those who blessH1288 you.”
30Now it cameH1961 about, as soonH3512 as IsaacH3327 had finishedH3615 blessingH1288 JacobH3290, and JacobH3290 had hardlyH389H3318 goneH3318 out from the presenceH6440 of IsaacH3327 his fatherH1, that EsauH6215 his brotherH251 cameH935 in from his huntingH6718. 31Then he alsoH1571 madeH6213 savoryH4303 foodH4303, and broughtH935 it to his fatherH1; and he saidH559 to his fatherH1, “7Let my fatherH1 ariseH6965 and eatH398 of his son’sH1121 gameH6718, that 89you may blessH1288 me.” 32IsaacH3327 his fatherH1 saidH559 to him, “10WhoH4310 are you?” And he saidH559, “I am your sonH1121, 11your firstbornH1060, EsauH6215.” 33Then IsaacH3327 12trembledH2729 violentlyH2731H1419H5704H3966, and saidH559, “13WhoH4310 was he thenH645 that huntedH6679 gameH6718 and broughtH935 it to me, so that I ateH398 of allH3605 of it beforeH2962 you cameH935, and blessedH1288 him? 14YesH1571, and he shall be blessedH1288.” 34When EsauH6215 heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of his fatherH1, 15he criedH6817 out with an exceedinglyH3966 greatH1419 and bitterH4751 cryH6818, and saidH559 to his fatherH1, “BlessH1288 me, even me alsoH1571, O my fatherH1!” 35And he saidH559, “16Your brotherH251 cameH935 deceitfullyH4820 and has takenH3947 away your blessingH1293.” 36Then he saidH559, “17Is he not rightly namedH7121H8034 18JacobH3290, for he has supplantedH6117 me theseH2088 twoH6471 timesH6471? He tookH3947 away my birthrightH1062, and beholdH2009, nowH6258 he has takenH3947 away my blessingH1293.” And he saidH559, “Have you not reservedH680 a blessingH1293 for me?” 37But IsaacH3327 repliedH6030 to EsauH6215, “BeholdH2005, I have madeH7760 him 19your masterH1376, and allH3605 his 20relativesH251 I have givenH5414 to him 21as servantsH5650; and with grainH1715 and newH8492 wineH8492 I have sustainedH5564 him. Now as for you thenH645, whatH4100 can I doH6213, my sonH1121?” 38EsauH6215 saidH559 to his fatherH1, “Do you have only oneH259 blessingH1293, my fatherH1? BlessH1288 me, even me alsoH1571, O my fatherH1.” So EsauH6215 liftedH5375 his voiceH6963 and 22weptH1058.
39Then 23IsaacH3327 his fatherH1 answeredH6030 and saidH559 to him, “BeholdH2009, 2425away from the 26fertilityH8082 of the earthH776 shall be your dwellingH4186, And 27away from the dewH2919 of heavenH8064 from aboveH5921.40By your swordH2719 you shall liveH2421, And your brotherH251 28you shall serveH5647; But it shall comeH1961 about 29whenH3512 you becomeH7300 restlessH7300, That you will 30breakH6561 his yokeH5923 from your neckH6677.”
41So EsauH6215 31boreH7852 a grudgeH7852 againstH7852 JacobH3290 becauseH5921 of the blessingH1293 with whichH834 his fatherH1 had blessedH1288 him; and EsauH6215 saidH559 32to himselfH3820, “33The daysH3117 of mourningH60 for my fatherH1 are nearH7126; then I will killH2026 my brotherH251 JacobH3290.” 42Now when the wordsH1697 of her elderH1419 sonH1121 EsauH6215 were reportedH5046 to RebekahH7259, she sentH7971 and calledH7121 her youngerH6996 sonH1121 JacobH3290, and saidH559 to him, “BeholdH2009 your brotherH251 EsauH6215 is consolingH5162 himself concerning you by planning to killH2026 you. 43NowH6258 therefore, my sonH1121, 34obeyH8085 my voiceH6963, and ariseH6965, 35fleeH1272 to 36HaranH2771, to my brotherH251 37LabanH3837! 44StayH3427 with him 38a fewH259 daysH3117, untilH5704H834 your brother’sH251 furyH2534 39subsidesH7725, 45untilH5704 your brother’sH251 angerH639 40againstH4480 you subsidesH7725 and he forgetsH7911 41whatH834 you didH6213 to him. Then I will sendH7971 and getH3947 you from thereH8033. WhyH4100 should I be bereavedH7921 of you bothH8147 in oneH259 dayH3117?”
46RebekahH7259 saidH559 to IsaacH3327, “I am tiredH6973 of 42livingH2425 becauseH4480H6440 of 43the daughtersH1323 of HethH2845; 44ifH518 JacobH3290 takesH3947 a wifeH802 from the daughtersH1323 of HethH2845, like theseH428, from the daughtersH1323 of the landH776, whatH4100 good will my lifeH2425 be to me?”
