Genesis 27:1-27

1Now it cameH1961 about, whenH3588 IsaacH3327 was oldH2204 and 1his eyesH5869 were tooH4480 dimH3543 to seeH7200, that he calledH7121 his 2olderH1419 sonH1121 EsauH6215 and saidH559 to him, “My sonH1121.” And he saidH559 to him, “HereH2009 I am.” 234Isaac saidH559, “BeholdH2009 nowH4994, I amH2204 oldH2204 and I do not knowH3045 the dayH3117 of my deathH4194. 3NowH6258 then, pleaseH4994 takeH5375 your gearH3627, your quiverH8522 and your bowH7198, and goH3318 out to the fieldH7704 and 5huntH6679 gameH6718 for me; 4and prepareH6213 a savoryH4303 dishH4303 for me suchH3512 as I loveH157, and bringH935 it to me that I may eatH398, soH5668 that 6my soulH5315 may blessH1288 you beforeH2962 I dieH4191.”

5RebekahH7259 was listeningH8085 while IsaacH3327 spokeH1696 to his sonH1121 EsauH6215. So when EsauH6215 wentH1980 to the fieldH7704 to huntH6679 for gameH6718 to bringH935 home, 67RebekahH7259 saidH559 to her sonH1121 JacobH3290, “BeholdH2009, I heardH8085 your fatherH1 speakH1696 to your brotherH251 EsauH6215, sayingH559, 7‘BringH935 me some gameH6718 and prepareH6213 a savoryH4303 dishH4303 for me, that I may eatH398, and blessH1288 you in the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 beforeH6440 my deathH4194.’ 8NowH6258 therefore, my sonH1121, 8listenH8085 to 9me 10as I commandH6680 you. 9GoH1980 nowH4994 to the flockH6629 and 11bringH3947 me twoH8147 choiceH2896 12youngH1423H5795 goatsH1423H5795 from thereH8033, that I may prepareH6213 them as a savoryH4303 dishH4303 for your fatherH1, suchH3512 as he lovesH157. 10Then you shall bringH935 it to your fatherH1, that he may eatH398, soH5668 that he may blessH1288 you beforeH6440 his deathH4194.” 11JacobH3290 13answeredH559 his motherH517 RebekahH7259, “BeholdH2005, EsauH6215 my brotherH251 is a 14hairyH8163 manH376 and I am a smoothH2509 manH376. 1215PerhapsH194 my fatherH1 will feelH4959 me, then I will be as a 16deceiverH8591 in his sightH5869, and I will bringH935 upon myself a curseH7045 and not a blessingH1293.” 13But his motherH517 saidH559 to him, “Your curseH7045 be on me, my sonH1121; onlyH389 17obeyH8085 my voiceH6963, and goH1980, getH3947 them for me.” 14So he wentH1980 and gotH3947 them, and broughtH935 them to his motherH517; and his motherH517 madeH6213 savoryH4303 foodH4303 suchH3512 as his fatherH1 lovedH157. 15Then RebekahH7259 tookH3947 the 18bestH2536 19garmentsH899 of EsauH6215 her elderH1419 sonH1121, whichH834 were with her in the houseH1004, and putH3847 them on JacobH3290 her youngerH6996 sonH1121. 16And she putH3847 the skinsH5785 of the 20youngH1423H5795 goatsH1423H5795 on his handsH3027 and on the smoothH2513 partH2513 of his neckH6677. 17She also gaveH5414 the savoryH4303 foodH4303 and the breadH3899, whichH834 she had madeH6213, 21to her sonH1121 JacobH3290.

18Then he cameH935 to his fatherH1 and saidH559, “My fatherH1.” And he saidH559, “HereH2009 I am. WhoH4310 are you, my sonH1121?” 19JacobH3290 saidH559 to his fatherH1, “I am EsauH6215 your firstbornH1060; I have doneH6213 as you toldH1696 me. 22GetH6965 up, pleaseH4994, sitH3427 and eatH398 of my gameH6718, that 2324you may blessH1288 me.” 20IsaacH3327 saidH559 to his sonH1121, “HowH4100 is it that you haveH4672 it so quicklyH4116, my sonH1121?” And he saidH559, “25BecauseH3588 the LordH3068 your GodH430 caused it to happenH7136 to me.” 21Then IsaacH3327 saidH559 to JacobH3290, “PleaseH4994 comeH5066 closeH5066, that 26I may feelH4184 you, my sonH1121, whether you are reallyH2088 my sonH1121 EsauH6215 orH518 not.” 22So JacobH3290 cameH5066 closeH5066 to IsaacH3327 his fatherH1, and he feltH4959 him and saidH559, “The voiceH6963 is the voiceH6963 of JacobH3290, but the handsH3027 are the handsH3027 of EsauH6215.” 23He did not recognizeH5234 him, becauseH3588 his handsH3027 were 27hairyH8163 like his brotherH251 Esau’sH6215 handsH3027; so he blessedH1288 him. 24And he saidH559, “Are you reallyH2088 my sonH1121 EsauH6215?” And he saidH559, “I am.” 25So he saidH559, “BringH5066 it to me, and I will eatH398 of my son’sH1121 gameH6718, that 2829I may blessH1288 you.” And he broughtH5066 it to him, and he ateH398; he also broughtH935 him wineH3196 and he drankH8354. 26Then his fatherH1 IsaacH3327 saidH559 to him, “PleaseH4994 comeH5066 closeH5066 and kissH5401 me, my sonH1121.” 27So he cameH5066 closeH5066 and kissedH5401 him; and when he smelledH7381 the smellH7381 of his garmentsH899, he 30blessedH1288 him and saidH559, “SeeH7200, 31the smellH7381 of my sonH1121 Is like the smellH7381 of a fieldH7704 32whichH834 the LordH3068 has blessedH1288;
