Genesis 2:5-25

51Now noH2962H3605 shrubH7880 of the fieldH7704 was yetH2962 in the earthH776, and noH2962H3605 plantH6212 of the fieldH7704 had yetH2962 sproutedH6779, 2for the LordH3068 GodH430 had not sentH4305 rainH4305 upon the earthH776, and there was noH369 manH120 to 3cultivateH5647 the groundH127. 6But a 4mistH108 used to riseH5927 from the earthH776 and waterH8248 the wholeH3605 5surfaceH6440 of the groundH127. 7Then the LordH3068 GodH430 formedH3335 manH120 of 6dustH6083 from the groundH127, and breathedH5301 into his nostrilsH639 the breathH5397 of lifeH2425; and 7manH120 becameH1961 a livingH2416 8beingH5315. 8The LordH3068 GodH430 plantedH5193 a 9gardenH1588 towardH4480 the eastH6924, in EdenH5731; and thereH8033 He placedH7760 the manH120 whomH834 He had formedH3335. 9Out of the groundH127 the LordH3068 GodH430 caused to growH6779 10everyH3605 treeH6086 that is pleasingH2530 to the sightH4758 and goodH2896 for foodH3978; 11the treeH6086 of lifeH2425 also in the midstH8432 of the gardenH1588, and the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451.

10Now a 12riverH5104 13flowedH3318 out of EdenH5731 to waterH8248 the gardenH1588; and from thereH8033 it dividedH6504 and becameH1961 fourH702 14riversH7218. 11The nameH8034 of the firstH259 is PishonH6376; it 15flowsH5437 aroundH5437 the wholeH3605 landH776 of 16HavilahH2341, whereH834H8033 thereH8033 is goldH2091. 12The goldH2091 of that landH776 is goodH2896; the bdelliumH916 and the onyxH7718 stoneH68 are thereH8033. 13The nameH8034 of the secondH8145 riverH5104 is GihonH1521; it 17flowsH5437 aroundH5437 the wholeH3605 landH776 of CushH3568. 14The nameH8034 of the thirdH7992 riverH5104 is 1819TigrisH2313; it 20flowsH1980 eastH6926 of AssyriaH804. And the fourthH7243 riverH5104 is the 2122EuphratesH6578.

15Then the LordH3068 GodH430 tookH3947 the manH120 and putH5117 him into the gardenH1588 of EdenH5731 to cultivateH5647 it and keepH8104 it. 16The LordH3068 GodH430 23commandedH6680 the manH120, sayingH559, “From anyH3605 treeH6086 of the gardenH1588 you may eatH398 freelyH398; 17but from the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451 you shall not 24eatH398, for in the dayH3117 that you eatH398 from it 25you will surelyH4191 dieH4191.”

18Then the LordH3068 GodH430 saidH559, “It is not goodH2896 for the manH120 to be aloneH905; 26I will makeH6213 him a helperH5828 27suitableH5048 for him.” 1928Out of the groundH127 the LordH3068 GodH430 formedH3335 everyH3605 beastH2421 of the fieldH7704 and everyH3605 birdH5775 of the 29skyH8064, and 30broughtH935 them to the manH120 to seeH7200 whatH4100 he would callH7121 them; and whateverH3605H834 the manH120 calledH7121 a livingH2416 creatureH5315, that was its nameH8034. 20The manH120 gaveH7121 namesH8034 to allH3605 the cattleH929, and to the birdsH5775 of the 31skyH8064, and to everyH3605 beastH2421 of the fieldH7704, but for 32AdamH121 there was not foundH4672 33a helperH5828 34suitableH5048 for him. 21So the LordH3068 GodH430 caused a 35deepH8639 sleepH8639 to fallH5307 upon the manH120, and he sleptH3462; then He tookH3947 oneH259 of his ribsH6763 and closedH5462 up the fleshH1320 at that placeH8478. 22The LordH3068 GodH430 36fashionedH1129 into a womanH802 37the ribH6763 whichH834 He had takenH3947 from the manH120, and broughtH935 her to the manH120. 23The manH120 saidH559, “38ThisH2088 is nowH6471 boneH6106 of my bonesH6106, And fleshH1320 of my fleshH1320; 39She shall be calledH7121 40WomanH802, BecauseH3588 41she was takenH3947 out of 42ManH376.” 2443For thisH3651 reasonH5921H3651 a manH376 shall leaveH5800 his fatherH1 and his motherH517, and be joinedH1692 to his wifeH802; and they shall becomeH1961 oneH259 fleshH1320. 2544And the manH120 and his wifeH802 were bothH8147 nakedH6174 and were not ashamedH954.
