2I will 1establishH5414 My 2covenantH1285 betweenH996 Me and you, And I will 3multiplyH7235 you exceedinglyH3966.” 3AbramH87 4fellH5307 on his faceH6440, and GodH430 talkedH1696 with him, sayingH559,4“As for Me, beholdH2009, My covenantH1285 is with you, And you will be the fatherH1 of a 5multitudeH1995 of nationsH1471.5NoH3808 longerH5750 shall your nameH8034 be calledH7121 6AbramH87, But 7your nameH8034 shall be 8AbrahamH85; For 9I have madeH5414 you the fatherH1 of a multitudeH1995 of nationsH1471. 6I will makeH6509 you exceedinglyH3966 fruitfulH6509, and I will makeH5414 nationsH1471 of you, and 10kingsH4428 will comeH3318 forthH3318 from you. 7I will establishH6965 My covenantH1285 betweenH996 Me and you and your 11descendantsH2233 afterH310 you throughout their generationsH1755 for an 12everlastingH5769 covenantH1285, 13to be GodH430 to you and 14to your 15descendantsH2233 afterH310 you. 816I will giveH5414 to you and to your 17descendantsH2233 afterH310 you, the landH776 of your sojourningsH4033, allH3605 the landH776 of CanaanH3667, for an everlastingH5769 possessionH272; and 18I will be their GodH430.”
9GodH430 saidH559 further to AbrahamH85, “Now as for you, 19you shall keepH8104 My covenantH1285, you and your 20descendantsH2233 afterH310 you throughout their generationsH1755. 1021ThisH2088 is My covenantH1285, whichH834 you shall keepH8104, betweenH996 Me and you and your 22descendantsH2233 afterH310 you: everyH3605 maleH2145 among you shall be circumcisedH4135. 11And 23you shall be circumcisedH4135 in the fleshH1320 of your foreskinH6190, and it shall be the signH226 of the covenantH1285 betweenH996 Me and you. 12And everyH3605 maleH2145 among you who is 24eightH8083 daysH3117 oldH1121 shall be circumcisedH4135 throughout your generationsH1755, a servant whoH3211 is bornH3211 in the houseH1004 or whoH4736 is boughtH4736 with moneyH3701 from anyH3605 foreignerH1121H5236, whoH834 is not of your 25descendantsH2233. 13A servant whoH3211 is bornH3211 in your houseH1004 or 26whoH4736 is boughtH4736 with your moneyH3701 shall surelyH4135 be circumcisedH4135; thus shall My covenantH1285 be in your fleshH1320 for an everlastingH5769 covenantH1285. 14But an uncircumcisedH6189 maleH2145 whoH834 is not circumcisedH4135 in the fleshH1320 of his foreskinH6190, that personH5315 shall be 27cutH3772 offH3772 from his peopleH5971; he has brokenH6565 My covenantH1285.”
15Then GodH430 saidH559 to AbrahamH85, “As for SaraiH8297 your wifeH802, you shall not callH7121 her nameH8034 SaraiH8297, but 28SarahH8283 shall be her nameH8034. 16I will blessH1288 her, and indeedH1571 I will giveH5414 you 29a sonH1121 by her. Then I will blessH1288 her, and she shall be a mother of nationsH1471; 30kingsH4428 of peoplesH5971 will 31comeH1961 from her.” 17Then AbrahamH85 32fellH5307 on his faceH6440 and laughedH6711, and saidH559 in his heartH3820, “Will a child be bornH3205 to a manH1121 one hundredH3967 yearsH8141 oldH1121? And 33will SarahH8283, who is ninetyH8673 yearsH8141 oldH1323, bearH3205 a child?” 18And AbrahamH85 saidH559 to GodH430, “OhH3863 that IshmaelH3458 might liveH2421 beforeH6440 You!” 19But GodH430 saidH559, “NoH61, but SarahH8283 your wifeH802 will bearH3205 you 34a sonH1121, and you shall callH7121 his nameH8034 35IsaacH3327; and 36I will establishH6965 My covenantH1285 with him for an everlastingH5769 covenantH1285 for his 37descendantsH2233 afterH310 him. 20As for IshmaelH3458, I have heardH8085 you; beholdH2009, I will blessH1288 him, and 38will makeH6509 him fruitfulH6509 and will multiplyH7235 him exceedinglyH3966. 39He shall 40becomeH3205 the fatherH3205 of twelveH8147H6240 princesH5387, and I will makeH5414 him a 41greatH1419 nationH1471. 21But My covenantH1285 I will establishH6965 with 42IsaacH3327, whomH834 43SarahH8283 will bearH3205 to you at thisH2088 seasonH4150 nextH312 yearH8141.”
