Genesis 14:5-24
5In the fourteenthH702H6240 yearH8141 ChedorlaomerH3540 and the kingsH4428 that were with him, cameH935 and 1defeatedH5221 the 2RephaimH7497 in 3Ashteroth-karnaimH6255 and the ZuzimH2104 in HamH1990 and the EmimH368 in 45Shaveh-kiriathaimH7741, 6and the 6HoritesH2752 in their MountH2022 SeirH8165, as farH5704 as 7El-paranH364, whichH834 is by the wildernessH4057. 7Then they turnedH7725 backH7725 and cameH935 to En-mishpatH5880 (that is, 8KadeshH6946), and 9conqueredH5221 allH3605 the countryH7704 of the AmalekitesH6003, and alsoH1571 the AmoritesH567, who livedH3427 in 10Hazazon-tamarH2688. 8And the kingH4428 of SodomH5467 and the kingH4428 of GomorrahH6017 and the kingH4428 of AdmahH126 and the kingH4428 of ZeboiimH6636 and the kingH4428 of BelaH1106 (that is, ZoarH6820) cameH3318 out; and they arrayedH6186 for battleH4421 againstH854 them in 11the valleyH6010 of SiddimH7708, 9againstH854 ChedorlaomerH3540 kingH4428 of ElamH5867 and TidalH8413 kingH4428 of 12GoiimH1472 and AmraphelH569 kingH4428 of ShinarH8152 and AriochH746 kingH4428 of EllasarH495--fourH702 kingsH4428 againstH854 fiveH2568. 10Now the valleyH6010 of SiddimH7708 was full of tarH2564 pitsH875; and 13the kingsH4428 of SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017 fledH5127, and they fellH5307 14into them. But those who survivedH7604 fledH5127 to the 15hillH2022 countryH2022. 11Then they tookH3947 allH3605 the goodsH7399 of SodomH5467 and GomorrahH6017 and allH3605 their foodH400 supplyH400, and departedH1980. 12They also tookH3947 LotH3876, 16Abram’sH87 nephewH1121H251, and his possessionsH7399 and departedH1980, 17for he was livingH3427 in SodomH5467.
13Then 18a fugitiveH6412 cameH935 and toldH5046 AbramH87 the 19HebrewH5680. Now he was 20livingH7931 by the 2122oaksH436 of MamreH4471 the AmoriteH567, brotherH251 of EshcolH812 and brotherH251 of AnerH6063, and theseH1992 were 2324alliesH1167H1285 with AbramH87. 14When AbramH87 heardH8085 that 25his 26relativeH251 had been takenH7617 captiveH7617, he 27ledH7385 out his trainedH2593 menH2593, 28bornH3211 in his houseH1004, threeH7969 hundredH3967 and eighteenH8083H6240, and wentH7291 in pursuitH7291 as farH5704 as 29DanH1835. 1530He dividedH2505 31his forces againstH5921 them by nightH3915, he and his servantsH5650, and 32defeatedH5221 them, and pursuedH7291 them as farH5704 as HobahH2327, whichH834 is 33northH8040 of 34DamascusH1834. 16He 35broughtH7725 backH7725 allH3605 the goodsH7399, and alsoH1571 broughtH7725 backH7725 36his 37relativeH251 LotH3876 with his possessionsH7399, and alsoH1571 the womenH802, and the peopleH5971.
17Then afterH310 his returnH7725 from the 38defeatH5221 of ChedorlaomerH3540 and the kingsH4428 whoH834 were with him, 39the kingH4428 of SodomH5467 wentH3318 out to meetH7122 him at the valleyH6010 of ShavehH7740 (that is, 40the King’sH4428 ValleyH6010). 18And 41MelchizedekH4442 kingH4428 of SalemH8004 broughtH3318 out 42breadH3899 and wineH3196; now he was a 43priestH3548 of 44GodH410 MostH5945 HighH5945. 19He blessedH1288 him and saidH559, “BlessedH1288 be AbramH87 of 45GodH430 MostH5945 HighH5945, 4647PossessorH7069 of heavenH8064 and earthH776;20And blessedH1288 be 48GodH430 MostH5945 HighH5945, WhoH834 has deliveredH4042 your enemiesH6862 into your handH3027.” 49He gaveH5414 him a tenthH4643 of allH3605. 21The kingH4428 of SodomH5467 saidH559 to AbramH87, “GiveH5414 the 50peopleH5315 to me and takeH3947 the goodsH7399 for yourself.” 22AbramH87 saidH559 to the kingH4428 of SodomH5467, “I have 51swornH7311H3027 to the LordH3068 5253GodH430 MostH5945 HighH5945, 5455possessorH7069 of heavenH8064 and earthH776, 23that 56I will not takeH3947 a threadH2339 or a sandalH5275 thongH8288 or anythingH3605 that is yours, for fear you would sayH559, ‘I have madeH6238 AbramH87 richH6238.’ 2457I will take nothingH1107 exceptH1107 whatH834 the youngH5288 menH5288 have eatenH398, and the shareH2506 of the menH376 whoH834 wentH1980 with me, 58AnerH6063, EshcolH812, and MamreH4471; let them takeH3947 their shareH2506.”
