James 2:14-24

14What [is] the profitG3786, my brethren, if any oneG5100 sayG3004 he have faithG4102, but have not worksG2041? can faithG4102 saveG4982 him?

15Now if a brotherG80 or a sisterG79 is nakedG1131 and destitute of daily foodG5160,

16and oneG5100 from amongst you sayG3004 to them, GoG5217 in peaceG1515, be warmedG2328 and filledG5526; but giveG1325 not to them the needful things for the bodyG4983, what [is] the profitG3786?

17So alsoG2532 faithG4102, if it have not worksG2041, isG1510 deadG3498 by itself.

18But some oneG5100 will sayG3004, Thou hast faithG4102 and I have worksG2041. Shew me thy faithG4102 without worksG2041, and I from my worksG2041 will shew thee my faithG4102.

19Thou believest that 1GodG2316 isG1510 oneG1520. Thou doest wellG2573. The demonsG1140 evenG2532 believeG4100, and tremble.

20But wilt thou knowG1097, O vainG2756 manG444, that faithG4102 without worksG2041 isG1510 dead?

21Was not AbrahamG11 our fatherG3962 justifiedG1344 by worksG2041 when he had offeredG399 IsaacG2464 his sonG5207 upon the altarG2379?

22Thou seest that faithG4102 wrought with his worksG2041, and that by worksG2041 faithG4102 was perfectedG5048.

23And the scriptureG1124 was fulfilled which saysG3004, AbrahamG11 believedG4100 2GodG2316, and it was reckonedG3049 to him as righteousnessG1343, and he was calledG2564 FriendG5384 of 3GodG2316.

24Ye seeG3708 that a manG444 is justifiedG1344 on the principle of worksG2041, and not on the principle of faithG4102 onlyG3440.
