Exodus 2:11-25
11And it came to pass in those daysH3117, when MosesH4872 wasH1961 grownH1431, that he wentH3318 out to his brethren and lookedH7200 on their burdens; and he sawH7200 an EgyptianH4713 smiting a HebrewH5680, oneH376 of his brethren. 12And he turnedH6437 this way and that way, and when he sawH7200 that there was no manH376, he smote the EgyptianH4713, and hidH2934 him in the sandH2344. 13And he wentH3318 out on the secondH8145 dayH3117, and behold, twoH8147 HebrewH5680 menH376 were quarrelling; and he saidH559 to him that was in the wrong, WhyH4100 art thou smiting thy neighbour? 14And he saidH559, Who madeH7760 thee ruler and judgeH8199 over us? dost thou intend to killH2026 me, as thou killedst the EgyptianH4713? Then MosesH4872 fearedH3372, and saidH559, Surely the matterH1697 is knownH3045. 15And PharaohH6547 heardH8085 of this matterH1697, and soughtH1245 to slayH2026 MosesH4872. But MosesH4872 fledH1272 from before PharaohH6547, and dweltH3427 in the landH776 of MidianH4080. And he satH3427 by the wellH875. 16And the priestH3548 of MidianH4080 had sevenH7651 daughtersH1323; and they cameH935 and drew [waterH8248], and filledH4390 the troughs, to waterH8248 their father's flockH6629. 17And the shepherdsH7462 cameH935 and droveH1644 them awayH1644; but MosesH4872 roseH6965 and helped them, and wateredH8248 their flockH6629. 18And when they cameH935 to ReuelH7467 their fatherH1, he saidH559, WhyH4069 are ye comeH935 so soon to-day? 19And they saidH559, An EgyptianH4713 deliveredH5337 us out of the handH3027 of the shepherdsH7462, and alsoH1571 drew [waterH8248] abundantly for us, and wateredH8248 the flockH6629. 20And he saidH559 to his daughtersH1323, And whereH346 is he? whyH4100 then have ye leftH5800 the manH376 behind? CallH7121 him, that he may eatH398 breadH3899. 21And MosesH4872 consented to remainH3427 with the manH376; and he gaveH5414 MosesH4872 ZipporahH6855 his daughterH1323. 22And she boreH3205 a sonH1121, and he calledH7121 his nameH8034 GershomH1647; for he saidH559, I have beenH1961 a sojournerH1616 in a foreignH5237 landH776. 23And it came to pass during those manyH7227 daysH3117, that the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 diedH4191. And the children of IsraelH3478 sighed because of the bondage, and criedH2199; and their cryH2199 came up to 1GodH430 because of the bondage; 24and 2GodH430 heardH8085 their groaningH5009, and 3GodH430 rememberedH2142 his covenantH1285 with AbrahamH85, with IsaacH3327, and with JacobH3290; 25and 4GodH430 lookedH7200 upon the children of IsraelH3478, and 5GodH430 acknowledged [them].
