Kings 1:11-31
And NathanH5416 spoke to Bathsheba the motherH517 of SolomonH8010, sayingH559, Hast thou not heardH8085 that AdonijahH138 the sonH1121 of HaggithH2294 is kingH4427, and DavidH1732 our lordH113 does not knowH3045 [it]?
And nowH6258, come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counselH6098, that thou mayest saveH4422 thine ownH5315 lifeH5315, and the lifeH5315 of thy sonH1121 SolomonH8010.
GoH935 and get thee in to kingH4428 DavidH1732, and sayH559 to him, Didst not thou, my lordH113, O kingH4428, swearH7650 to thy handmaid sayingH559, SolomonH8010 thy sonH1121 shall reignH4427 after me, and he shall sitH3427 on my throneH3678? whyH4069 then does AdonijahH138 reignH4427?
Behold, while thou yetH5750 talkest there with the kingH4428, I also will comeH935 in after thee and confirm thy wordsH1697.
And Bathsheba wentH935 in to the kingH4428 into the chamberH2315; and the kingH4428 was veryH3966 oldH2204; and AbishagH49 the ShunammiteH7767 ministered to the kingH4428.
And Bathsheba bowedH7812 and did obeisance to the kingH4428. And the kingH4428 saidH559, What wouldest thou?
And she saidH559 to him, My lord, thou hast swornH7650 by Jehovah thy 1GodH430 to thy handmaid, [sayingH559,] SolomonH8010 thy sonH1121 shall reignH4427 after me, and he shall sitH3427 on my throneH3678.
And nowH6258 behold, AdonijahH138 is kingH4428; and nowH6258, my lordH113 the kingH4428, thou knowest it not.
And he has sacrificedH2076 oxen and fatted cattle and sheepH6629 in abundanceH7230, and has invited all the sonsH1121 of the kingH4428 and AbiatharH54 the priestH3548 and JoabH3097 the captain of the hostH6635; but SolomonH8010 thy servantH5650 has he not invited.
And thou, my lordH113 the kingH4428, the eyesH5869 of all IsraelH3478 are upon thee, that thou shouldest tellH5046 them who shall sitH3427 on the throneH3678 of my lordH113 the kingH4428 after him.
Otherwise it shall come to pass when my lordH113 the kingH4428 shall sleep with his fathersH1, that I and my sonH1121 SolomonH8010 will beH1961 counted offenders.
And behold, while she yetH5750 talked with the kingH4428, NathanH5416 the prophetH5030 also cameH935 in.
And they toldH5046 the kingH4428 sayingH559, Behold, NathanH5416 the prophetH5030. And when he was comeH935 in before the kingH4428, he bowedH7812 himself before the kingH4428 with his faceH6440 to the groundH776.
And NathanH5416 saidH559, My lordH113, O kingH4428, hast thou saidH559, AdonijahH138 shall reignH4427 after me, and he shall sitH3427 on my throneH3678?
For he is goneH3381 down this dayH3117, and has sacrificedH2076 oxen and fatted cattle and sheepH6629 in abundanceH7230, and has invited all the king's sonsH1121, and the captains of the hostH6635, and AbiatharH54 the priestH3548; and behold, they eatH398 and drinkH8354 before him, and sayH559, 2God save kingH4428 AdonijahH138!
But me, [even] me thy servantH5650, and ZadokH6659 the priestH3548, and BenaiahH1141 the sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077, and thy servantH5650 SolomonH8010, he has not invited.
Is this thingH1697 done by my lordH113 the kingH4428, and thou hast not shewn to thy servantsH5650 who should sitH3427 on the throneH3678 of my lordH113 the kingH4428 after him?
Then kingH4428 DavidH1732 answered and saidH559, CallH7121 me Bathsheba. And she cameH935 into the king's presenceH6440, and stoodH5975 before the kingH4428.
And the kingH4428 sworeH7650, and saidH559, [As] Jehovah liveth, who has redeemedH6299 my soulH5315 out of all distressH6869,
even as I sworeH7650 to thee by Jehovah the 3GodH430 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, SolomonH8010 thy sonH1121 shall reignH4427 after me, and he shall sitH3427 on my throneH3678 in my stead; even soH3651 will I certainly do this dayH3117.
And Bathsheba bowedH7812 with her faceH639 to the earthH776, and did reverence to the kingH4428, and saidH559, Let my lordH113 kingH4428 DavidH1732 liveH2421 for everH5769.
