Darby Bible
1And kingH4428 SolomonH8010 wasH1961 kingH4428 over all IsraelH3478. 2And these are the princesH8269 whom he had: AzariahH5838 the sonH1121 of ZadokH6659 was priestH3548; 3Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sonsH1121 of Shisha, scribesH5608; JehoshaphatH3092 the sonH1121 of AhiludH286, chronicler; 4and BenaiahH1141 the sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077 was over the hostH6635; and ZadokH6659 and AbiatharH54 were priestsH3548; 5and AzariahH5838 the sonH1121 of NathanH5416 was over the superintendents; and Zabud the sonH1121 of NathanH5416 was principal officer, the king's friendH7463; 6and Ahishar was over the householdH1004; and AdoniramH141 the sonH1121 of AbdaH5653 was over the levy-service. 7And SolomonH8010 had twelve superintendents over all IsraelH3478; and they providedH3557 food for the kingH4428 and his householdH1004: each man his monthH2320 in the yearH8141 had to make provision. 8And these are their namesH8034: Ben-Hur, in mount EphraimH669. 9Ben-Deker in Makaz, and in ShaalbimH8169, and Beth-shemeshH1053, and Elon-Beth-hanan. 10Ben-Hesed, in Arubboth; he had Sochoh, and all the landH776 of HepherH2660. 11Ben-Abinadab had all the upland of DorH1756; Taphath the daughterH1323 of SolomonH8010 wasH1961 his wifeH802. 12BaanaH1195 the sonH1121 of AhiludH286 had TaanachH8590 and MegiddoH4023, and all Beth-sheanH1052, which is by Zaretan beneath Jizreel, from Beth-sheanH1052 to Abel-MeholahH65, as far as beyond Jokneam. 13Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead; he had the villages of JairH2971 the sonH1121 of ManassehH4519, which are in GileadH1568; he had the region of Argob, which is in BashanH1316, sixtyH8346 greatH1419 citiesH5892 with wallsH2346 and barsH1280 of bronzeH5178. 14Ahinadab the sonH1121 of IddoH5714, at MahanaimH4266. 15AhimaazH290, in Nephtali; he alsoH1571 tookH3947 Basmath the daughterH1323 of SolomonH8010 as wifeH802. 16Baanah the sonH1121 of HushaiH2365, in AsherH836 and in Aloth. 17JehoshaphatH3092 the sonH1121 of Paruah, in IssacharH3485. 18ShimeiH8096 the sonH1121 of Ela, in BenjaminH1144. 19Geber the sonH1121 of UriH221, in the landH776 of GileadH1568, the landH776 of SihonH5511 the kingH4428 of the AmoritesH567, and of OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316; and [he was] the only superintendent that was in the landH776. 20JudahH3063 and IsraelH3478 were manyH7227, as the sandH2344 which is by the seaH3220 in multitudeH7230, eatingH398 and drinkingH8354 and making merry. 21And Solomon ruled over all kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life. 22And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and sixty measures of meal, 23ten fatted oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and a hundred sheep, besides harts, and gazelles, and fallow-deer, and fatted fowl. 24For he had dominion over all on this side the river, from Tiphsah as far as Gazah, over all the kings on this side the river; and he had peace on all sides round about. 25And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig-tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon. 26And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. 27And those officers provided food for king Solomon, and for all who came to king Solomon's table, every man in his month: they let nothing be wanting. 28And the barley, and the straw for the horses and coursers, they brought to the place where [the superintendents] were, every man according to his charge. 29And 1God gave Solomon wisdom and very great understanding and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore. 30And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the sons of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt. 31For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the nations round about. 32And he spoke three thousand proverbs; and his songs were a thousand and five. 33And he spoke of the trees, from the cedar-tree that is on Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of cattle, and of fowls, and of creeping things, and of fishes. 34And there came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
