Isaiah 41:8-28
8“But youH859, O IsraelH3478, My servantH5650, JacobH3290, whomH834 I have chosenH977, descendantH2233 of AbrahamH85 My friendH157—9I broughtH2388 you fromH834 the endsH7098 of the earthH776 and called youH7121 from its farthest cornersH678. I saidH559, ‘YouH859 are My servantH5650.’ I have chosenH977 and notH3808 rejected youH3988.10Do notH408 fearH3372, forH3588 IH589 am with youH5973; do notH408 be afraidH8159, forH3588 IH589 am your GodH430. I will strengthen youH553; I will surely help youH637H5826; I will uphold youH8551 with My righteousH6664 right handH3225.
11BeholdH2005, allH3605 who rageH2734 against youwill be ashamedH954 and disgracedH3637;those who contendH582 with youH7379will beH1961 reduced to nothingH369 and will perishH6.12You will seekH1245 them but will notH3808 find themH4672.Those who wage warH4421 against youH582 will comeH1961 to nothingH369H657.13ForH3588 I amH589 the LORDH3068 your GodH430,who takes holdH2388 of your right handH3225and tellsH559 you: Do notH408 fearH3372,IH589 will help youH5826.14Do notH408 fearH3372, O JacobH3290, you wormH8438,O few menH4962 of IsraelH3478.IH589 will help youH5826,” declaresH5002 the LORDH3068.“Your RedeemerH1350 is the HolyH6918 One of IsraelH3478.15BeholdH2009, I will make youH7760 into a threshing sledgeH4173,newH2319 and sharpH2742, withH1167 many teethH6374.You will threshH1758 the mountainsH2022 and crush themH1854,and reduceH7760 the hillsH1389 to chaffH4671.16You will winnow themH2219, and a windH7307 will carry them awayH5375;a galeH5591 will scatterH6327 themH853.But youH859 will rejoiceH1523 in the LORDH3068;you will gloryH1984 in the HolyH6918 One of IsraelH3478.
17The poorH6041 and needyH34 seekH1245 waterH4325, but there is noneH369;their tonguesH3956 are parchedH5405 with thirstH6772.IH589, the LORDH3068, will answer themH6030;I, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, will notH3808 forsake themH5800.18I will openH6605 riversH5104 onH5921 the barren heightsH8205,and fountainsH4599 in the middleH8432 of the valleysH1237.I will turnH7760 the desertH4057 into a poolH98 of waterH4325,and the dryH6723 landH776 into flowing springsH4161H4325.19I will plantH5414 cedarsH730 in the wildernessH4057,acaciasH7848, myrtlesH1918, and oliveH8081 treesH6086.I will setH7760 cypressesH12651 in the desertH6160,elmsH8410 and boxwoodH8391 togetherH3162,20so thatH4616 allH3162 may seeH7200 and knowH3045,may considerH7760 and understandH7919,thatH3588 the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 has doneH6213 thisH2063and the HolyH6918 One of IsraelH3478 has created itH1254.”
21“PresentH7126 your caseH7379,” saysH559 the LORDH3068.“SubmitH5066 your argumentsH6110,” saysH559 the KingH4428 of JacobH3290.22“Let them comeH5066 and tellH5046 us whatH834 will happenH7136.TellH5046 the former thingsH7223H4100H2007,so that we may reflect onH7760 themH3820 and knowH3045 the outcomeH319.OrH176 announce to usH8085 what is comingH935.23Tell usH5046 the thingsH857 that are to comeH268,so that we may knowH3045 thatH3588 youH859 are godsH430.YesH637, do something goodH3190 or evilH7489,that we may look on together in dismayH8159H7200H3162.24BeholdH2005, youH859 are nothingH369and your workH6467 is of no valueH659.Anyone who choosesH977 you is detestableH8441.
25I have raised upH5782 one from the northH6828, and he has comeH857—one from the eastH4217H8121 who calls onH7121 My nameH8034.He will march overH935 rulersH5461 as ifH3644 they were mortarH2563,likeH3644 a potterH3335 who treadsH7429 the clayH2916.26WhoH4310 has declaredH5046 this from the beginningH7218,so that we may knowH3045,and from times pastH6440,so that we may sayH559: ‘He was rightH6662H637’?NoH369 one announced itH5046H637, no oneH369 foretold itH8085H637,noH369 one heardH8085 your wordsH561.
