Isaiah 41:8-28
8“But you, IsraelH3478, 1My servantH5650, JacobH3290 whomH834 I have chosenH977, DescendantH2233 of 2AbrahamH85 My 3friendH157,9You whomH834 I have 45takenH2388 from the endsH7098 of the earthH776, And calledH7121 from its 6remotestH678 partsH678 And saidH559 to you, ‘You are 7My servantH5650, I have 8chosenH977 you and not rejectedH3988 you.10Do not 9fearH3372, for I am with you; Do not anxiously lookH8159 about you, for I am your GodH430. I will strengthenH553 you, surelyH637 10I will helpH5826 you, SurelyH637 I will upholdH8551 you with My righteousH6664 11rightH3225 handH3225.’11BeholdH2005, 12allH3605 those who are angeredH2734 at you will be shamedH954 and dishonoredH3637; 13ThoseH376 whoH376 contendH7379 with you will be as nothingH369 and will perishH6.1214You will seekH1245 thoseH376 whoH376 quarrelH4695 with you, but will not findH4672 them, ThoseH376 whoH376 warH4421 with you will be as nothingH369 and non-existentH657.13For I am the LordH3068 your GodH430, 15who upholdsH2388 your rightH3225 handH3225, Who saysH559 to you, ‘16Do not fearH3372, I will helpH5826 you.’14Do not fearH3372, you 17wormH8439 JacobH3290, you menH4962 of IsraelH3478; I will helpH5826 you,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “18and 19your RedeemerH1350 is the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478.15BeholdH2009, I have madeH7760 you a newH2319, sharpH2742 threshingH4173 sledgeH4173 with double edgesH6310; 20You will threshH1758 the 21mountainsH2022 and pulverizeH1854 them, And will makeH7760 the hillsH1389 like chaffH4671.16You will 22winnowH2219 them, and the windH7307 will carryH5375 them away, And the stormH5591 will scatterH6327 them; But you will 23rejoiceH1523 in the LordH3068, You will gloryH1984 in the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478.
17“The 24afflictedH6041 and needyH34 are seekingH1245 25waterH4325, but thereH369 is noneH369, And their tongueH3956 is parchedH5405 with thirstH6772; I, the LordH3068, 26will answerH6030 them Myself, As the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 I 27will not forsakeH5800 them.18I will openH6605 28riversH5104 on the bareH8205 heightsH8205 And springsH4599 in the midstH8432 of the valleysH1237; I will makeH7760 29the wildernessH4057 a poolH98 of waterH4325 And the dryH6723 landH776 fountainsH4161 of waterH4325.19I will putH5414 the cedarH730 in the wildernessH4057, The acaciaH7848 and the 30myrtleH1918 and the 31oliveH8081 treeH8410; I will placeH7760 the 32juniperH1265 in the desertH6160 TogetherH3164 with the boxH8410 treeH8391 and the cypressH8391,20That 33they may seeH7200 and recognizeH3045, And considerH7760 and gainH7919 insightH7919 as wellH3164, That the 34handH3027 of the LordH3068 has doneH6213 thisH2088, And the HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478 has createdH1254 it.
21“35PresentH7126 your caseH7379,” the LordH3068 saysH559. “BringH5066 forwardH5066 your strongH6110 arguments,” The 36KingH4428 of JacobH3290 saysH559.2237Let them bringH5066 forthH5066 and declareH5046 to us whatH834 is going to takeH7136 placeH7136; As for the 38formerH7223 events, declareH5046 whatH4100 they were, That we may considerH7760 them and knowH3045 their outcomeH319. OrH176 announceH8085 to us what is comingH935;2339DeclareH5046 the thingsH857 that are going to comeH857 afterwardH268, That we may knowH3045 that you are godsH430; IndeedH637, 40doH3190 goodH3190 or evilH7489, that we may anxiously lookH8159 about us and fearH3372 togetherH3164.24BeholdH2005, 41you are of 42noH369 accountH369, And 43your workH6467 amounts to nothingH657; He who choosesH977 you is an 44abominationH8441.
25“I have arousedH5782 45one from the northH6828, and he has comeH857; From the risingH4217 of the sunH8121 he will callH7121 on My nameH8034; And he will comeH935 upon rulersH5461 as upon 46mortarH2563, Even as the potterH3335 treadsH7429 clayH2563.”26WhoH4310 has 47declaredH5046 this from the beginningH7218, that we might knowH3045? Or from formerH6440 timesH6440, that we may sayH559, “He is rightH6662!”? SurelyH637 thereH369 was 48noH369 oneH369 who declaredH5046, SurelyH637 thereH369 was noH369 oneH369 who proclaimedH8085, SurelyH637 thereH369 was noH369 oneH369 who heardH8085 your wordsH561.27“49FormerlyH7223 I said to ZionH6726, ‘BeholdH2009, hereH2009 they are.’ And to JerusalemH3389, ‘I will giveH5414 a 50messengerH1319 of good newsH1319.’28But 51when I lookH7200, thereH369 is noH369 oneH376, And thereH369 is noH369 52counselorH3289 53amongH4480 them Who, if I askH7592, can 54giveH7725 an answerH1697.
