Genesis 48:8-16
8When IsraelH3478 sawH7200 the sonsH1121 of JosephH3130, he askedH559, “WhoH4310 are theseH428?”
9JosephH3130 saidH559 toH413 his fatherH1, “TheyH1992 are the sonsH1121 GodH430 has givenH5414 me in thisH2088 place.”
So Jacob saidH559, “PleaseH4994 bring themH3947 to meH413, that I may blessH1288 them.”
10Now Israel’sH3478 eyesightH5869 was poorH3513 because of old ageH2207; he couldH3201 hardlyH3808 seeH7200. Joseph broughtH5066 his sons to himH413, and his father kissedH5401 them and embracedH2263 them.
11“I neverH3808 expectedH6419 to seeH7200 your face againH6440,” IsraelH3478 saidH559 toH413 JosephH3130, “but nowH2009 GodH430 has let me seeH7200 your childrenH2233 as wellH1571.”
12Then JosephH3130 removedH3318 his sons fromH5973 his father’s kneesH1290 and bowedH7812 facedownH639H776.
13And JosephH3130 tookH3947 bothH8147 of themH853—with EphraimH669 in his right handH3225 toward Israel’sH3478 left handH8040, and ManassehH4519 in his left handH8040 toward Israel’sH3478 right handH3225—and brought them closeH5066 to himH413. 14But IsraelH3478 stretched outH7971 his right handH3225 and putH7896 it onH5921 the headH7218 of EphraimH669H1931, the youngerH6810; and crossingH7919 his handsH3027, he put his leftH8040 onH5921 Manasseh’sH4519 headH7218, althoughH3588 ManassehH4519 was the firstbornH1060. 15Then he blessedH1288 JosephH3130 and saidH559:
