Genesis 21:22-33
At thatH1931 timeH6256 AbimelechH40 and PhicolH6369 the commanderH8269 of his armyH6635 saidH559 toH413 AbrahamH85H559, “GodH430 is with youH5973 in allH3605 thatH834 youH859 doH6213. 23Now, thereforeH6258, swearH7650 to me hereH2008 before GodH430 that you will notH518 deal falselyH8266 with me or my childrenH5209 or descendantsH5220. ShowH6213 to meH5978 andH5973 to the countryH776 in whichH834 you resideH1481 the same kindnessH2617 thatH834 I have shownH6213 to youH5973.”
24And AbrahamH85 repliedH559, “IH595 swear itH7650.”
25But when AbrahamH85 complainedH3198 to AbimelechH40 aboutH5921H182 a wellH875H4325 thatH834 Abimelech’sH40 servantsH5650 had seizedH1497, 26AbimelechH40 repliedH559, “I do notH3808 knowH3045 whoH4310 has doneH6213 thisH2088H1571H1697. YouH859 did notH3808 tellH5046 meH1571, so IH595 have notH3808 heardH8085 about it until todayH1115H3117.”
27So AbrahamH85 broughtH3947 sheepH6629 and cattleH1241 and gave themH5414 to AbimelechH40, and the two menH8147 madeH3772 a covenantH1285. 28AbrahamH85 separatedH5324H905 sevenH7651 ewe lambsH3535 from the flockH6629, 29and AbimelechH40 askedH559H413 him, “WhyH4100H2007 have you set apartH5324H905 theseH428 sevenH7651 ewe lambsH3535?”
30He repliedH559, “You are to acceptH3947 the sevenH7651 ewe lambsH3535 from my handH3027 as my witnessH5668H1961H5713 thatH3588 I dugH2658 thisH2063 wellH875.” 31SoH5921H3651 thatH1931 placeH4725 was calledH7121 BeershebaH884,1 becauseH3588 it was thereH8033 that the twoH8147 of them swore an oathH7650. 32After they had madeH3772 the covenantH1285 at BeershebaH884, AbimelechH40 and PhicolH6369 the commanderH8269 of his armyH6635 got upH6965 and returnedH7725 toH413 the landH776 of the PhilistinesH6430.
33And Abraham plantedH5193 a tamarisk treeH815 in BeershebaH884, and thereH8033 he calledH7121 upon the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, the EternalH5769 GodH410.2
