Genesis 2:16-25
And the LORDH3068 GodH430H5921 commandedH6680 him, “You may eat freelyH398 from everyH3605 treeH6086 of the gardenH1588, 17but you must notH3808 eatH398 fromH4480 the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451; forH3588 in the dayH3117 that you eatH398 of itH4480, you will surely dieH4191.”
The LORDH3068 GodH430 also saidH559, “It is notH3808 goodH2896 for the manH120 to beH1961 aloneH905. I will makeH6213 for him a suitableH5048 helperH5828.”
And out ofH4480 the groundH127 the LORDH3068 GodH430 formedH3335 everyH3605 beastH2416 of the fieldH7704 and everyH3605 birdH5775 of the airH8064, and He broughtH935 them toH413 the manH120 to seeH7200 whatH4100 he would nameH7121 each oneH3605. And whatever the manH120 calledH7121 each livingH2416 creatureH5315, thatH1931 was its nameH8034. 20The manH120 gaveH7121 namesH8034 to allH3605 the livestockH929, to the birdsH5775 of the airH8064, and to everyH3605 beastH2416 of the fieldH7704. But for AdamH1211 noH3808 suitableH5048 helperH5828 was foundH4672.
So the LORDH3068 GodH430 causedH5307 the manH120 to fall intoH5921 a deep sleepH8639, and while he sleptH3462, He tookH3947 oneH259 of the man’s ribsH67632 and closed upH5462 the areaH8478 with fleshH1320. 22And from the ribH6763 thatH834 the LORDH3068 GodH430 had takenH3947 fromH4480 the manH120, He madeH1129 a womanH802 and brought herH935 toH413 him. 23And the manH120 saidH559:
ForH5921 this reasonH3651 a manH376 will leaveH5800 his fatherH1 andH853 motherH517 and be unitedH1692 to his wifeH802, and they will becomeH1961 oneH259 fleshH1320.3
And the manH120 and his wifeH802 wereH1961 bothH8147 nakedH6174, and they were notH3808 ashamedH954.
