Genesis 19:1-8

1Now the twoH8147 angelsH4397 arrivedH935 at SodomH5467 in the eveningH6153, and LotH3876 was sittingH3427 in the gatewayH8179 ofH5467 the city. When LotH3876 saw themH7200, he got upH6965 to meet themH7122, bowedH7812 facedownH639H776, 2and saidH559H2009H4994, “My lordsH113, pleaseH4994 turn asideH5493 intoH413 the houseH1004 of your servantH5650; washH7364 your feetH7272 and spend the nightH3885. Then you can rise earlyH7925 and goH1980 on your wayH1870.”

“NoH3808H3588,” they answeredH559, “we will spend the nightH3885 in the squareH7339.”

3But Lot insistedH6484 so stronglyH3966 that they followedH5493 himH413 intoH935H413 his houseH1004. He preparedH6213 a feastH4960 for them and bakedH644 unleavened breadH4682, and they ateH398.

4BeforeH2962 they had gone to bedH7901, allH3605H5971 the menH582 of the cityH5892H582 of SodomH5467, both youngH5288 andH5704 oldH2205H7097, surroundedH5437H5921 the houseH1004. 5They called outH7121 toH413 LotH3876, sayingH559, “WhereH346 are the menH582 whoH834 cameH935 to you tonightH413H3915? Send them outH3318 to usH413 so we can have relationsH3045 with themH853!”

6LotH3876 wentH3318 outsideH6607 to meet themH413, shuttingH5462 the doorH1817 behind himH310. 7“PleaseH4994, my brothersH251,” he pleadedH559, “don’tH408 do such a wicked thingH7489! 8LookH2009H4994, I have twoH8147 daughtersH1323 whoH834 have neverH3808 slept withH3045 a manH376. Let me bringH3318H4994 themH853 to youH413, and you can doH6213 to them as you pleaseH2896H5869. ButH7535 do notH408 doH6213 anythingH1697 to theseH411 menH582, forH3588H5921H3651 they have comeH935 under the protectionH6738 of my roofH6982.”
