17

AfterG3326 threeG5140 daysG2250, heG846 called togetherG4779 theG3588 leadersG4413 of theG3588 JewsG2453. When theyG846 had gatheredG4905, he saidG2036 toG4314 themG846, “BrothersG435G80, although I have doneG4160 nothingG3762 againstG1727 our peopleG2992 orG2228 theG3588 customsG1485 of our fathersG3971, IG1473 was taken prisonerG1198 inG1537 JerusalemG2414 and handed overG3860 toG1519 theG3588 RomansG4514. 18They examinedG350 meG1473 and wantedG1014 to releaseG630 me, becauseG1223 there wasG5225 noG3367 basisG156 for a death sentenceG2288 againstG1722 meG1473. 19ButG1161 when theG3588 JewsG2453 objectedG483, I was compelledG315 to appeal toG1941 CaesarG2541, even though I haveG2192 noG3756 charge to bring againstG2723 myG1473 nationG1484. 20SoG3767 forG1223 thisG3778 reasonG156 I have calledG3870 to seeG3708 youG4771 andG2532 speak withG4354 you. It is because ofG1752 theG3588 hopeG1680 of IsraelG2474 that I am bound withG4029 thisG3778 chainG254.”

The leaders repliedG2036, “WeG1473 have not receivedG1209G3777 any lettersG1121 aboutG4012 youG4771 fromG575 JudeaG2449, norG3777 have anyG5100 of theG3588 brothersG80 from there reportedG518 or evenG2228 mentionedG2980 anythingG5100 badG4190 aboutG4012 youG4771. 22ButG1161 we considerG515 your viewsG3844G4771G3739G5426 worth hearingG191, becauseG1063 weG1473 knowG1110 thatG3754 people everywhereG3837 are speaking againstG483 thisG3778 sectG139.”

23SoG1161 they setG5021 a dayG2250 toG846 meet with Paul, and manyG4119 people cameG2064 toG4314 the place he was stayingG3578. He expoundedG1620 toG3739 them fromG575 morningG4404 toG2193 eveningG2073, testifying aboutG1263 theG3588 kingdomG932 of GodG2316 andG5037 persuadingG3982 themG846 aboutG4012 JesusG2424 fromG575 theG3588 LawG3551 of MosesG3475 andG2532 theG3588 ProphetsG4396.
