Deuteronomy 9:3-6
3KnowH3045 therefore this dayH3117, that Jehovah thy GodH430 is he who goeth over before thee as a devouringH398 fireH784; he will destroyH8045 them, and he will bring them down before thee: so shalt thou drive them out, and makeH3045 them to perishH6 quicklyH4118, as Jehovah hath spokenH1696 unto thee. 4Speak not thou in thy heartH3824, after that Jehovah thy GodH430 hath thrust them out from before thee, sayingH559, For my righteousnessH6666 Jehovah hath broughtH935 me in to possessH3423 this landH776; whereas for the wickednessH7564 of these nationsH1471 Jehovah doth drive them out from before thee. 5Not for thy righteousnessH6666, or for the uprightnessH3476 of thy heartH3824, dost thou goH935 in to possessH3423 their landH776; but for the wickednessH7564 of these nationsH1471 Jehovah thy GodH430 doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may establishH6965 the wordH1697 which Jehovah sware unto thy fathersH1, to AbrahamH85, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290.
6KnowH3045 therefore, that Jehovah thy GodH430 giveth thee not this goodH2896 landH776 to possessH3423 it for thy righteousnessH6666; for thou art a stiffnecked peopleH5971.
