Deuteronomy 4:25-49
25When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have been long in the landH776, and shall corruptH7843 yourselves, and makeH6213 a graven imageH6459 in the formH8544 of anything, and shall do that which is evilH7451 in the sight of Jehovah thy GodH430, to provokeH3707 him to angerH3707; 26I call heavenH8064 and earthH776 to witness against you this dayH3117, that ye shall soon utterly perishH6 from off the landH776 whereunto ye go over the JordanH3383 to possessH3423 it; ye shall not prolongH748 your daysH3117 upon it, but shall utterly be destroyedH8045. 27And Jehovah will scatterH6327 you among the peoplesH5971, and ye shall be leftH7604 few in numberH4557 among the nationsH1471, whither Jehovah shall lead you awayH5090. 28And there ye shall serveH5647 godsH430, the workH4639 of men’sH120 handsH3027, woodH6086 and stoneH68, which neither seeH7200, nor hearH8085, nor eatH398, nor smellH7306. 29But from thence ye shall seekH1245 Jehovah thy GodH430, and thou shalt findH4672 him, when thou searchest after him with all thy heartH3824 and with all thy soulH5315. 30When thou art in tribulation, and all these thingsH1697 are come upon thee, in the latterH319 daysH3117 thou shalt returnH7725 to Jehovah thy GodH430, and hearken unto his voiceH6963: 31for Jehovah thy GodH430 is a merciful GodH430; he will not fail thee, neither destroyH7843 thee, nor forgetH7911 the covenantH1285 of thy fathersH1 which he sware unto them.
32For askH7592 now of the daysH3117 that are past, which were before thee, since the dayH3117 that GodH430 createdH1254 manH120 upon the earthH776, and from the oneH2088 endH7097 of heavenH8064 unto the other, whether there hath beenH1961 any such thingH1697 as this greatH1419 thingH1697 is, or hath beenH1961 heardH8085 like it? 33Did ever a peopleH5971 hearH8085 the voiceH6963 of GodH430 speakingH1696 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784, as thou hast heardH8085, and liveH2421? 34Or hath GodH430 assayed to goH935 and takeH3947 him a nationH1471 from the midstH7130 of another nationH1471, by trials, by signsH226, and by wondersH4159, and by warH4421, and by a mightyH2389 handH3027, and by an outstretchedH5186 armH2220, and by greatH1419 terrorsH4172, according to all that Jehovah your GodH430 did for you in EgyptH4714 before your eyesH5869? 35Unto thee it was showedH7200, that thou mightest knowH3045 that Jehovah he is GodH430; there is none else besides him. 36Out of heavenH8064 he madeH8085 thee to hearH8085 his voiceH6963, that he might instruct thee: and upon earthH776 he madeH8085 thee to seeH7200 his greatH1419 fireH784; and thou heardest his wordsH1697 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784. 37And because he lovedH157 thy fathersH1, therefore he choseH977 their seedH2233 after them, and broughtH3318 thee out with his presenceH6440, with his greatH1419 powerH3581, out of EgyptH4714; 38to drive out nationsH1471 from before thee greaterH1419 and mightierH6099 than thou, to bringH935 thee in, to giveH5414 thee their landH776 for an inheritanceH5159, as at this dayH3117. 39KnowH3045 therefore this dayH3117, and lay it to thy heartH3824, that Jehovah he is GodH430 in heavenH8064 above and upon the earthH776 beneath; there is none else. 40And thou shalt keepH8104 his statutesH2706, and his commandmentsH4687, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, that it may goH3190 wellH3190 with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolongH748 thy daysH3117 in the landH127, which Jehovah thy GodH430 giveth thee, for ever.
41ThenH227 MosesH4872 setH914 apartH914 threeH7969 citiesH5892 beyond the JordanH3383 toward the sunrising; 42that the manslayer might fleeH5127 thither, that slayeth his neighborH7453 unawares, and hatedH8130 him not in time past; and that fleeingH5127 unto oneH259 of these citiesH5892 he might live: 43namely, BezerH1221 in the wildernessH4057, in the plainH4334 country, for the Reubenites; and RamothH7216 in GileadH1568, for the Gadites; and GolanH1474 in BashanH1316, for the Manassites.
44And this is the lawH8451 which MosesH4872 setH7760 before the children of IsraelH3478: 45these are the testimonies, and the statutesH2706, and the ordinancesH4941, which MosesH4872 spake unto the children of IsraelH3478, whenH834 they cameH3318 forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714, 46beyond the JordanH3383, in the valleyH1516 over against Beth-peorH1047, in the landH776 of SihonH5511 kingH4428 of the AmoritesH567, who dweltH3427 at HeshbonH2809, whom MosesH4872 and the children of IsraelH3478 smote, whenH834 they cameH3318 forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714. 47And they tookH3423 his landH776 in possessionH3423, and the landH776 of OgH5747 kingH4428 of BashanH1316, the twoH8147 kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567, who were beyond the JordanH3383 toward the sunrising; 48from AroerH6177, which is on the edgeH8193 of the valley of the ArnonH769, even unto mount Sion (the same is HermonH2768), 49and all the ArabahH6160 beyond the JordanH3383 eastward, even unto the seaH3220 of the ArabahH6160, under the slopes of PisgahH6449.
