Deuteronomy 24:1-5
1When a manH376 taketh a wifeH802, and marrieth her, then it shall beH1961, if she findH4672 no favorH2580 in his eyesH5869, because he hath foundH4672 some unseemly thingH1697 in her, that he shall writeH3789 her a bill of divorcement, and giveH5414 it in her handH3027, and sendH7971 her out of his houseH1004. 2And when she is departed out of his houseH1004, she may goH1980 and beH1961 another man’sH376 wife. 3And if the latterH314 husbandH376 hateH8130 her, and writeH3789 her a bill of divorcement, and giveH5414 it in her handH3027, and sendH7971 her out of his houseH1004; or if the latterH314 husbandH376 dieH4191, who tookH3947 her to be his wifeH802; 4her formerH7223 husbandH1167, who sentH7971 her awayH7971, may not takeH3947 her again to beH1961 his wifeH802, after that she is defiledH2930; for that is abominationH8441 before Jehovah: and thou shalt not cause the landH776 to sinH2398, which Jehovah thy GodH430 giveth thee for an inheritanceH5159.
5When a manH376 taketh a newH2319 wifeH802, he shall not goH3318 out in the hostH6635, neither shall he beH1961 charged with any business: he shall beH1961 freeH5355 at home oneH259 yearH8141, and shall cheer his wifeH802 whom he hath takenH3947.
