2 Chronicles 30
American Standard Version
1And HezekiahH2396 sentH7971 to all IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063, and wroteH3789 lettersH107 alsoH1571 to EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, that they should comeH935 to the houseH1004 of Jehovah at JerusalemH3389, to keep the passoverH6453 unto Jehovah, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 2For the kingH4428 had taken counselH3289, and his princesH8269, and all the assemblyH6951 in JerusalemH3389, to keep the passoverH6453 in the secondH8145 monthH2320. 3For they could not keepH6942 it at that timeH6256, because the priestsH3548 had not sanctifiedH6942 themselves in sufficient number, neither had the peopleH5971 gatheredH622 themselves together to JerusalemH3389. 4And the thingH1697 was right in the eyesH5869 of the kingH4428 and of all the assemblyH6951. 5So they established a decree to makeH6213 proclamationH6963 throughout all IsraelH3478, from Beer-sheba even to DanH1835, that they should comeH935 to keep the passoverH6453 unto Jehovah, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, at JerusalemH3389: for they had not kept it in great numbers in such sort as it is writtenH3789. 6So the posts wentH7725 with the lettersH107 from the kingH4428 and his princesH8269 throughout all IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063, and according to the commandmentH4687 of the kingH4428, sayingH559, Ye children of IsraelH3478, turnH7725 again unto Jehovah, the GodH430 of AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327, and IsraelH3478, that he may returnH7725 to the remnantH7604 that are escapedH6413 of you out of the handH3027 of the kingsH4428 of AssyriaH804. 7And beH1961 not ye like your fathersH1, and like your brethren, who trespassed against Jehovah, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, so that he gaveH5414 them up to desolationH8047, as ye seeH7200. 8NowH6258 be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathersH1 were; but yield yourselves unto Jehovah, and enter into his sanctuaryH4720, which he hath sanctifiedH6942 for everH5769, and serveH5647 Jehovah your GodH430, that his fierce angerH639 may turnH7725 awayH7725 from you. 9For if ye turnH7725 again unto Jehovah, your brethren and your children shall find compassionH7356 before them that led them captiveH7617, and shall come again into this landH776: for Jehovah your GodH430 is graciousH2587 and merciful, and will not turnH7725 awayH5493 his faceH6440 from you, if ye returnH7725 unto him.
10So the posts passedH5674 from cityH5892 to cityH5892 through the country of EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, even unto ZebulunH2074: but they laughedH7832 them to scorn, and mockedH3932 them. 11NeverthelessH389 certain menH376 of AsherH836 and ManassehH4519 and of ZebulunH2074 humbledH3665 themselves, and cameH935 to JerusalemH3389. 12AlsoH1571 upon JudahH3063 came the handH3027 of GodH430 to giveH5414 them oneH259 heartH3820, to do the commandmentH4687 of the kingH4428 and of the princesH8269 by the wordH1697 of Jehovah.
13And there assembled at JerusalemH3389 much peopleH5971 to keep the feastH2282 of unleavenedH4682 breadH4682 in the secondH8145 monthH2320, a veryH3966 great assemblyH6951. 14And they aroseH6965 and took awayH5493 the altarsH4196 that were in JerusalemH3389, and all the altarsH4196 for incenseH6999 took they awayH5493, and castH7993 them into the brook KidronH6939. 15Then they killed the passoverH6453 on the fourteenth day of the secondH8145 monthH2320: and the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881 were ashamedH3637, and sanctifiedH6942 themselves, and broughtH935 burnt-offerings into the houseH1004 of Jehovah. 16And they stoodH5975 in their place after their order, according to the lawH8451 of MosesH4872 the manH376 of GodH430: the priestsH3548 sprinkledH2236 the bloodH1818 which they received of the handH3027 of the LevitesH3881. 17For there were manyH7227 in the assemblyH6951 that had not sanctifiedH6942 themselves: therefore the LevitesH3881 had the charge of killing the passovers for every one that was not cleanH2889, to sanctifyH6942 them unto Jehovah. 18For a multitude of the peopleH5971, even manyH7227 of EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, IssacharH3485 and ZebulunH2074, had not cleansedH2891 themselves, yet did they eatH398 the passoverH6453 otherwise than it is writtenH3789. For HezekiahH2396 had prayedH6419 for them, sayingH559, The goodH2896 Jehovah pardon every one 19that setteth his heartH3824 to seekH1875 GodH430, Jehovah, the GodH430 of his fathersH1, though he be not cleansed according to the purificationH2893 of the sanctuaryH6944. 20And Jehovah hearkened to HezekiahH2396, and healedH7495 the peopleH5971. 21And the children of IsraelH3478 that were present at JerusalemH3389 kept the feastH2282 of unleavenedH4682 breadH4682 sevenH7651 daysH3117 with greatH1419 gladnessH8057; and the LevitesH3881 and the priestsH3548 praisedH1984 Jehovah dayH3117 by dayH3117, singing with loud instrumentsH3627 unto Jehovah. 22And HezekiahH2396 spake comfortably unto all the LevitesH3881 that had goodH2896 understanding in the service of Jehovah. So they did eatH398 throughout the feast for the sevenH7651 daysH3117, offering sacrificesH2077 of peace-offerings, and making confession to Jehovah, the GodH430 of their fathersH1.
23And the whole assemblyH6951 tookH3289 counselH3289 to keep otherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117; and they keptotherH312sevenH7651 daysH3117 with gladnessH8057. 24For HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 did give to the assemblyH6951 for offerings a thousandH505 bullocks and sevenH7651 thousandH505 sheepH6629; and the princesH8269 gave to the assemblyH6951 a thousandH505 bullocks and tenH6235 thousandH505 sheepH6629: and a great number of priestsH3548 sanctifiedH6942 themselves. 25And all the assemblyH6951 of JudahH3063, with the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881, and all the assemblyH6951 that cameH935 out of IsraelH3478, and the sojournersH1616 that cameH935 out of the landH776 of IsraelH3478, and that dweltH3427 in JudahH3063, rejoicedH8055. 26So there wasH1961 greatH1419 joyH8057 in JerusalemH3389; for since the time of SolomonH8010 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 there wasH1961 not the like in JerusalemH3389. 27Then the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881 aroseH6965 and blessedH1288 the peopleH5971: and their voiceH6963 was heardH8085, and their prayerH8605 cameH935 up to his holyH6944 habitationH4583, even unto heavenH8064.
