2 Chronicles 30
Revised Version 1895
1And HezekiahH2396 sentH7971 to allH3605 IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063, and wroteH3789 lettersH107 also to EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, that they should comeH935 to the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 at JerusalemH3389, to keepH6213 the passoverH6453 unto the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 2For the kingH4428 had taken counselH3289, and his princesH8269, and allH3605 the congregationH6951 in JerusalemH3389, to keepH6213 the passoverH6453 in the secondH8145 monthH2320. 3For they couldH3201 notH3808 keepH6942 it at that time, becauseH3588 the priestsH3548 had notH3808 sanctifiedH6942 themselvesH6942 in sufficient number, neitherH3808 had the peopleH5971 gatheredH622 themselvesH6942 togetherH622 to JerusalemH3389. 4And the thingH1697 was rightH3474 in the eyesH5869 of the kingH4428 and of allH3605 the congregationH6951. 5SoH6213 they establishedH5975 a decreeH1697 to makeH6213 proclamationH6963 throughoutH3605 allH3605 IsraelH3478, from Beer-sheba evenH5704 to DanH1835, that they should comeH935 to keepH6213 the passoverH6453 unto the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, at JerusalemH3389: for they had notH3808 keptH6213 it in greatH7230 numbersH7230 in suchH3605 sort as it is writtenH3789. 6SoH7725 the posts wentH7725 with the lettersH107 from the kingH4428 and his princesH8269 throughoutH3605 allH3605 IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063, and accordingH413 to the commandmentH4687 of the kingH4428, sayingH559, Ye childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, turnH7725 againH7725 unto the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327, and IsraelH3478, that he may returnH7725 to the remnantH7604 that are escapedH6413 of youH3605 outH413 of the handH3027 of the kingsH4428 of AssyriaH804. 7And be notH408 ye like your fathersH1, and like your brethrenH251, whichH834 trespassed against the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, soH1961 that he gaveH5414 them upH7200 to desolationH8047, as ye seeH7200. 8NowH6258 be ye notH408 stiffnecked, as your fathersH1 were; but yieldH5414 yourselves unto the LORDH3068, and enterH935 intoH935 his sanctuaryH4720, whichH834 he hath sanctifiedH6942 for everH5769, and serveH5647 the LORDH3068 your GodH430, that his fierceH2740 angerH639 may turnH7725 awayH7725 from youH834. 9For ifH518 ye turnH7725 againH7725 unto the LORDH3068, your brethrenH251 and your childrenH1121 shall find compassionH7356 beforeH6440 them that ledH6440 them captiveH7617, and shall comeH7725 againH7725 intoH413 this landH776: for the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is graciousH2587 and mercifulH7349, and will notH3808 turnH7725 awayH5493 his faceH6440 from youH3588, ifH518 ye returnH7725 unto him. 10SoH1961 the posts passedH5674 from cityH5892 to cityH5892 throughH5674 the countryH776 of EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, evenH5704 unto ZebulunH2074: but they laughedH7832 them to scornH7832, and mockedH3932 them. 11NeverthelessH389 divers of AsherH836 and ManassehH4519 and of ZebulunH2074 humbledH3665 themselvesH3665, and cameH935 to JerusalemH3389. 12Also in JudahH3063 was the handH3027 of GodH430 to giveH5414 them one heartH3820, to doH6213 the commandmentH4687 of the kingH4428 and of the princesH8269 by the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068. 13And there assembledH622 at JerusalemH3389 muchH7230 peopleH5971 to keepH6213 the feastH2282 of unleavenedH4682 breadH4682 in the secondH8145 monthH2320, a veryH3966 greatH3966 congregationH6951. 14And they aroseH6965 and tookH5493 awayH5493 the altarsH4196 that were in JerusalemH3389, and allH3605 the altarsH4196 for incenseH6999 tookH5493 they awayH5493, and castH7993 them intoH7993 the brookH5158 KidronH6939. 15Then they killedH7819 the passoverH6453 on the fourteenth dayH2320 of the secondH8145 monthH2320: and the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881 were ashamedH3637, and sanctifiedH6942 themselvesH6942, and broughtH935 burntH5930 offeringsH6453 intoH935 the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. 16And they stoodH5975 in their placeH3027 afterH5921 their orderH4941, accordingH5921 to the lawH8451 of MosesH4872 the manH376 of GodH430: the priestsH3548 sprinkledH2236 the bloodH1818, which they receivedH5921 of the handH3027 of the LevitesH3881. 17For there were manyH7227 in the congregationH6951 that had notH3808 sanctifiedH6942 themselvesH6942: therefore the LevitesH3881 had the chargeH5921 of killing the passovers for everyH3605 one that was notH3808 cleanH2889, to sanctifyH6942 them unto the LORDH3068. 18For a multitudeH4768 of the peopleH5971, evenH3588 manyH7227 of EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, IssacharH3485 and ZebulunH2074, had notH3808 cleansedH2891 themselvesH2896, yet didH3808 they eatH398 the passoverH6453 otherwiseH3808 thanH3808 it is writtenH3789. For HezekiahH2396 had prayedH6419 for them, sayingH559, The goodH2896 LORDH3068 pardon every one 19that setteth his heartH3824 to seekH1875 GodH430, the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of his fathersH1, though he be notH3808 cleansedH2893 according to the purificationH2893 of the sanctuaryH6944. 20And the LORDH3068 hearkened to HezekiahH2396, and healedH7495 the peopleH5971. 21And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 that were presentH4672 at JerusalemH3389 keptH6213 the feastH2282 of unleavenedH4682 breadH4682 sevenH7651 daysH3117 with greatH1419 gladnessH8057: and the LevitesH3881 and the priestsH3548 praisedH1984 the LORDH3068 dayH3117 by dayH3117, singing with loudH1419 instrumentsH3627 unto the LORDH3068. 22And HezekiahH2396 spake comfortably unto allH3605 the LevitesH3881 that were wellH2896 skilledH3820 in the service of the LORDH3068. SoH1696 they didH3117 eatH398 throughoutH3605 the feastH398 for the sevenH7651 daysH3117, offering sacrificesH2077 of peaceH8002 offeringsH8002, and makingH3605 confessionH3034 to the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1. 23And the wholeH3605 congregationH6951 tookH3289 counselH3289 to keepH6213 otherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117: and they keptH6213 otherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117 with gladnessH8057. 24For HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 did give to the congregationH6951 for offeringsH3588 a thousandH505 bullocks and sevenH7651 thousandH505 sheepH6629; and the princesH8269 gave to the congregationH6951 a thousandH505 bullocks and tenH6235 thousandH505 sheepH6629: and a greatH7230 numberH7230 of priestsH3548 sanctifiedH6942 themselvesH6942. 25And allH3605 the congregationH6951 of JudahH3063, with the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881, and allH3605 the congregationH6951 that cameH935 outH3605 of IsraelH3478, and the strangersH1616 that cameH935 outH3605 of the landH776 of IsraelH3478, and that dweltH3427 in JudahH3063, rejoicedH8055. 26SoH1961 there was greatH1419 joyH8057 in JerusalemH3389: for sinceH3588 the time of SolomonH8010 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 there was notH3808 the like in JerusalemH3389. 27Then the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881 aroseH6965 and blessedH1288 the peopleH5971: and their voiceH6963 was heardH8085, and their prayerH8605 cameH935 upH6965 to his holyH6944 habitationH4583, evenH853 unto heavenH8064.
