1And the SpiritH7307 of GodH430 came upon AzariahH5838 the sonH1121 of OdedH5752: 2and he wentH3318 out to meet AsaH609, and saidH559 unto him, HearH8085 ye me, AsaH609, and all JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144: Jehovah is with you, while ye are with him; and if ye seekH1875 him, he will beH1961 foundH4672 of you; but if ye forsakeH5800 him, he will forsakeH5800 you. 3Now for a long season IsraelH3478 was without the true GodH430, and without a teaching priestH3548, and without lawH8451: 4but when in their distressH6862 they turnedH7725 unto Jehovah, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, and soughtH1245 him, he was foundH4672 of them. 5And in those times there was no peaceH7965 to him that wentH3318 out, nor to him that cameH935 in; but greatH7227 vexations were upon all the inhabitantsH3427 of the landsH776. 6And they were broken in pieces, nationH1471 against nationH1471, and cityH5892 against cityH5892; for GodH430 did vex them with all adversity. 7But be ye strongH2388, and let not your handsH3027 be slackH7503; for your workH6468 shall be rewardedH7939.

8And whenH834 AsaH609 heardH8085 these wordsH1697, and the prophecyH5016 of OdedH5752 the prophetH5030, he tookH2388 courage, and put away the abominationsH8251 out of all the landH776 of JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144, and out of the citiesH5892 which he had takenH3920 from the hill-country of EphraimH669; and he renewedH2318 the altarH4196 of Jehovah, that was before the porchH197 of Jehovah. 9And he gatheredH6908 all JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144, and them that sojourned with them out of EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, and out of SimeonH8095: for they fellH5307 to him out of IsraelH3478 in abundanceH7230, when they sawH7200 that Jehovah his GodH430 was with him. 10So they gatheredH6908 themselves togetherH6908 at JerusalemH3389 in the thirdH7992 monthH2320, in the fifteenth yearH8141 of the reignH4438 of AsaH609. 11And they sacrificedH2076 unto Jehovah in that dayH3117, of the spoilH7998 which they had broughtH935, sevenH7651 hundredH3967 oxenH1241 and sevenH7651 thousandH505 sheepH6629. 12And they entered into the covenantH1285 to seekH1875 Jehovah, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, with all their heartH3824 and with all their soulH5315; 13and that whosoever would not seekH1875 Jehovah, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, should be putH4191 to deathH4191, whether smallH6996 or greatH1419, whether manH376 or womanH802. 14And they sware unto Jehovah with a loud voiceH6963, and with shoutingH8643, and with trumpetsH2689, and with cornets. 15And all JudahH3063 rejoicedH8055 at the oathH7621; for they had swornH7650 with all their heartH3824, and soughtH1245 him with their whole desire; and he was foundH4672 of them: and Jehovah gaveH5117 them restH5117 roundH5439 about.

16And alsoH1571 MaacahH4601, the motherH517 of AsaH609 the kingH4428, he removedH5493 from being queen, because she had madeH6213 an abominable imageH4656 for an AsherahH842; and AsaH609 cutH3772 down her imageH4656, and madeH6213 dust of it, and burnt it at the brook KidronH6939. 17But the highH1116 placesH1116 wereH1961 not taken awayH5493 out of IsraelH3478: nevertheless the heartH3824 of AsaH609 wasH1961 perfectH8003 all his daysH3117. 18And he broughtH935 into the houseH1004 of GodH430 the thingsH6944 that his fatherH1 had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silverH3701, and goldH2091, and vesselsH3627. 19And there wasH1961 no more warH4421 unto the fiveH2568 and thirtieth yearH8141 of the reignH4438 of AsaH609.
