1Now HezekiahH2396 sentH7971 to allH3605 IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063 and wroteH3789 lettersH107 alsoH1571 to EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, that they should comeH935 to the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 at JerusalemH3389 to 1celebrateH6213 the PassoverH6453 to the LordH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478. 2For the kingH4428 and his princesH8269 and allH3605 the assemblyH6951 in JerusalemH3389 had decidedH3289 2to celebrateH6213 the PassoverH6453 in the secondH8145 monthH2320, 3sinceH3588 they couldH3201 not celebrateH6213 it 3at that timeH6256, becauseH3588 the priestsH3548 had not consecratedH6942 themselves in sufficientH1767 numbersH1767, norH3808 had the peopleH5971 been gatheredH622 to JerusalemH3389. 4Thus the thingH1697 was rightH3474 in the sightH5869 of the kingH4428 and 4allH3605 the assemblyH6951. 5So they establishedH5975 a decreeH1697 to circulateH5674 a 5proclamationH6963 throughout allH3605 IsraelH3478 6from BeershebaH884 even to DanH1835, that they should comeH935 to celebrateH6213 the PassoverH6453 to the LordH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478 at JerusalemH3389. For they had not celebratedH6213 it in greatH7230 numbersH7230 as it was 7prescribedH3789. 68The 9couriersH7323 wentH1980 throughout allH3605 IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063 with the lettersH107 from the handH3027 of the kingH4428 and his princesH8269, even according to the commandH4687 of the kingH4428, sayingH559, “O sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, returnH7725 to the LordH3068 GodH430 of AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327 and IsraelH3478, that He may returnH7725 to those of you whoH6413 escapedH6413 and are leftH7604 from 10the 11handH3709 of the kingsH4428 of AssyriaH804. 712Do not be like your fathersH1 and your brothersH251, whoH834 were unfaithfulH4603 to the LordH3068 GodH430 of their fathersH1, so that 13He madeH5414 them a horrorH8047, as you seeH7200. 8NowH6258 do not 14stiffenH7185 your neckH6203 like your fathersH1, but 15yieldH5414H3027 to the LordH3068 and enterH935 His sanctuaryH4720 whichH834 He has consecratedH6942 foreverH5769, and serveH5647 the LordH3068 your GodH430, 16that His burningH2740 angerH639 may turnH7725 awayH7725 from you. 9For 17if you returnH7725 to the LordH3068, your brothersH251 and your sonsH1121 will find compassionH7356 beforeH6440 those who ledH7617 them captiveH7617 and will returnH7725 to thisH2088 landH776. 18For the LordH3068 your GodH430 is graciousH2587 and compassionateH7349, and will not turnH5493 His faceH6440 awayH5493 from you ifH518 you returnH7725 to Him.”

10So the 19couriersH7323 passedH5674 from cityH5892 to cityH5892 through the countryH776 of EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, and as farH5704 as ZebulunH2074, but 20they laughedH7832 them to scornH7832 and mockedH3932 them. 11NeverthelessH389 21someH4480 menH376 of AsherH836, ManassehH4519 and ZebulunH2074 humbledH3665 themselves and cameH935 to JerusalemH3389. 12The 22handH3027 of GodH430 was alsoH1571 on JudahH3063 to giveH5414 them oneH259 heartH3820 to doH6213 whatH4687 the kingH4428 and the princesH8269 commandedH4687 by the wordH1697 of the LordH3068.

Passover Reinstituted

13Now manyH7227 peopleH5971 were gatheredH622 at JerusalemH3389 to celebrateH6213 the FeastH2282 of UnleavenedH4682 BreadH4682 23in the secondH8145 monthH2320, a veryH3966 largeH7230 assemblyH6951. 14They aroseH6965 and removedH5493 the altarsH4196 whichH834 were in JerusalemH3389; they also 24removedH5493 allH3605 the incenseH4729 altarsH4729 and 25castH7993 them into the brookH5158 KidronH6939. 15Then 26they slaughteredH7819 the PassoverH6453 lambs on the fourteenthH702H6240 of the secondH8145 monthH2320. And 27the priestsH3548 and LevitesH3881 were ashamedH3637 of themselves, and consecratedH6942 themselves and broughtH935 burntH5930 offeringsH5930 to the houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 1628They stoodH5975 at their stationsH5977 after their customH4941, according to the lawH8451 of MosesH4872 the manH376 of GodH430; the priestsH3548 sprinkledH2236 the bloodH1818 which they received from the handH3027 of the LevitesH3881. 17For there were manyH7227 in the assemblyH6951 whoH834 had not consecratedH6942 themselves; therefore, 29the LevitesH3881 were overH5921 the slaughterH7821 of the PassoverH6453 lambs for everyoneH3605 who was uncleanH3808H2889, in order to consecrateH6942 them to the LordH3068. 18For a multitudeH4768 of the peopleH5971, 30even manyH7227 from EphraimH669 and ManassehH4519, IssacharH3485 and ZebulunH2074, had not purifiedH2891 themselves, 31yetH3588 they ateH398 the PassoverH6453 32otherwiseH3808 than 33prescribedH3789. For HezekiahH2396 prayedH6419 for them, sayingH559, “May the goodH2896 LordH3068 pardonH3722 1934everyoneH3605 who preparesH3559 his heartH3824 to seekH1875 GodH430, the LordH3068 GodH430 of his fathersH1, though not according to the purificationH2893 rules of the sanctuaryH6944.” 20So the LordH3068 heardH8085 HezekiahH2396 and 35healedH7495 the peopleH5971. 21The sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 presentH4672 in JerusalemH3389 36celebratedH6213 the FeastH2282 of UnleavenedH4682 BreadH4682 for sevenH7651 daysH3117 with greatH1419 joyH8057, and the LevitesH3881 and the priestsH3548 praisedH1984 the LordH3068 dayH3117 after dayH3117 with loudH5797 instrumentsH3627 to the LordH3068. 22Then HezekiahH2396 37spokeH1696 38encouraginglyH5921H3820 to allH3605 the LevitesH3881 who showedH7919 goodH2896 insightH7922 in the things of the LordH3068. So they ateH398 for the appointedH4150 sevenH7651 daysH3117, sacrificingH2076 peaceH8002 offeringsH8002 and 39givingH3034 thanksH3034 to the LordH3068 GodH430 of their fathersH1.

23Then the wholeH3605 assemblyH6951 40decidedH3289 to celebrateH6213 the feast anotherH312 sevenH7651 daysH3117, so they celebratedH6213 the sevenH7651 daysH3117 with joyH8057. 24For 41HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 had contributedH7311 to the assemblyH6951 1,000H505 bullsH6499 and 7,000H7651H505 sheepH6629, and the princesH8269 had contributedH7311 to the assemblyH6951 1,000H505 bullsH6499 and 10,000H6235H505 sheepH6629; and 42a largeH7230 numberH7230 of priestsH3548 consecratedH6942 themselves. 25AllH3605 the assemblyH6951 of JudahH3063 rejoicedH8055, with the priestsH3548 and the LevitesH3881 and 43allH3605 the assemblyH6951 that cameH935 from IsraelH3478, both the sojournersH1616 who cameH935 from the landH776 of IsraelH3478 and those livingH3427 in JudahH3063. 26So there was greatH1419 joyH8057 in JerusalemH3389, becauseH3588 there was nothingH3808 like thisH2088 in JerusalemH3389 44sinceH3588 the daysH3117 of SolomonH8010 the sonH1121 of DavidH1732, kingH4428 of IsraelH3478. 27Then 45the LeviticalH3881 priestsH3548 aroseH6965 and 46blessedH1288 the peopleH5971; and their voiceH6963 was heardH8085 and their prayerH8605 cameH935 to 47His holyH6944 dwellingH4583 placeH4583, to heavenH8064.
