1The wordהַדָּבָר֙ha.da.VarH1697that came to Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֔הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414from the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2Hearשִׁמְע֕וּshim.'UH8085ye the wordsדִּבְרֵ֖יdiv.ReiH1697of this covenantהַבְּרִ֣יתha.be.RitH1285,and speakוְדִבַּרְתָּם֙ve.di.bar.TamH1696unto the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and to the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֖יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389;

3And sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559thou unto them, Thus saithאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478;Cursedאָר֣וּר'a.RurH779bethe manהָאִ֔ישׁha.'IshH376that obeyethיִשְׁמַ֔עyish.Ma'H8085not the wordsדִּבְרֵ֖יdiv.ReiH1697of this covenantהַבְּרִ֥יתha.be.RitH1285,

4Which I commandedצִוִּ֣יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680your fathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֡ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1in the dayבְּי֣וֹםbe.YomH3117thatI brought them forthהוֹצִיאִֽי־ho.tzi.'i-H3318out of the landמֵאֶֽרֶץ־me.'e.retz-H776of Egyptמִצְרַיִם֩mitz.ra.YimH4714,from the ironהַבַּרְזֶ֜לha.bar.ZelH1270furnaceמִכּ֨וּרmi.KurH3564,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,Obeyשִׁמְע֤וּshim.'UH8085my voiceבְקוֹלִי֙ve.ko.LiH6963,and doוַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣םva.'a.si.TemH6213them, according to all which I commandאֲצַוֶּ֖ה'a.tza.VehH6680you: so shall ye be my peopleלְעָ֔םle.'AmH5971,and I will be your Godלֵאלֹהִֽים׃le.lo.HimH430:

5That I may performהָקִ֨יםha.KimH6965the oathהַשְּׁבוּעָ֜הha.she.vu.'AhH7621which I have swornנִשְׁבַּ֣עְתִּיnish.Ba'.tiH7650unto your fathersלַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םla.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,to giveלָתֵ֤תla.TetH5414them a landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776flowingזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֛בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבַ֖שׁu.de.VashH1706, as it isthis dayכַּיּ֣וֹםkai.YomH3117.Then answeredוָאַ֥עַןva.'A.'anH6030I, and saidוָאֹמַ֖רva.'o.MarH559,So be itאָמֵ֥ן׀'a.MenH543,O Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

6Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, Proclaimקְרָ֨אke.Ra'H7121all these wordsהַדְּבָרִ֤יםha.de.va.RimH1697in the citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and in the streetsוּבְחֻצ֥וֹתu.ve.chu.TzotH2351of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Hearשִׁמְע֗וּshim.'UH8085ye the wordsדִּבְרֵי֙div.ReiH1697of this covenantהַבְּרִ֣יתha.be.RitH1285,and doוַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖םva.'a.si.TemH6213them.

7For I earnestlyהָעֵ֨דha.'EdH5749protestedהַעִדֹ֜תִיha.'i.Do.tiH5749unto your fathersבַּאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗םba.'a.vo.tei.KhemH1in the dayבְּיוֹם֩be.yOmH3117thatI brought them upהַעֲלוֹתִ֨יha.'a.lo.TiH5927out of the landמֵאֶ֤רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714, evenunto this dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117,rising earlyהַשְׁכֵּ֥םhash.KemH7925and protestingוְהָעֵ֖דve.ha.'EdH5749,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Obeyשִׁמְע֖וּshim.'UH8085my voiceבְּקוֹלִֽי׃be.ko.LiH6963.

8Yet they obeyedשָֽׁמְעוּ֙sha.me.'UH8085not, nor inclinedהִטּ֣וּhi.TuH5186their earאָזְנָ֔ם'a.ze.NamH241,but walkedH3212every oneאִ֕ישׁ'ishH376in the imaginationבִּשְׁרִיר֖וּתbish.ri.RutH8307of their evilהָרָ֑עha.Ra'H7451heartלִבָּ֣םli.BamH3820:therefore I will bringוָאָבִ֨יאva.'a.Vi'H935upon them all the wordsדִּבְרֵ֧יdiv.ReiH1697of this covenantהַבְּרִית־ha.be.rit-H1285,which I commandedצִוִּ֥יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680themto doלַעֲשׂ֖וֹתla.'a.SotH6213;but they didעָשֽׂוּ׃ ס'a.SuH6213them not.

9And the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, A conspiracyקֶ֙שֶׁר֙ke.sherH7195is foundנִֽמְצָא־nim.tza'-H4672among the menבְּאִ֣ישׁbe.'IshH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and among the inhabitantsוּבְיֹשְׁבֵ֖יu.ve.yo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389.

10They are turned backשָׁ֩בוּ֩sha.vuH7725to the iniquitiesעֲוֹנֹ֨ת'a.vo.NotH5771of their forefathersאֲבוֹתָ֜ם הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֗ים'a.vo.Tam ha.ri.sho.NimH1 H7223,which refusedמֵֽאֲנוּ֙me.'a.NuH3985to hearלִשְׁמ֣וֹעַlish.Mo.a'H8085my wordsדְּבָרַ֔יde.va.RaiH1697;and they wentהָלְכ֗וּha.le.KhuH1980afterאַחֲרֵ֛י'a.cha.ReiH310otherאֲחֵרִ֖ים'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430to serveלְעָבְדָ֑םle.'a.ve.DamH5647them: the houseבֵֽית־veit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478and the houseוּבֵ֣יתu.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063have brokenהֵפֵ֤רוּhe.Fe.ruH6565my covenantבְּרִיתִ֕יbe.ri.TiH1285which I madeכָּרַ֖תִּיka.Ra.tiH3772with their fathersאֲבוֹתָֽם׃ ס'a.vo.TamH1.

11Therefore thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,Behold, I will bringמֵבִ֤יאme.Vi'H935evilרָעָ֔הra.'AhH7451upon them, which they shall not be ableיוּכְל֖וּyu.khe.LuH3201to escapeלָצֵ֣אתla.TzetH3318;and though they shall cryוְזָעֲק֣וּve.za.'a.KuH2199unto me, I will not hearkenאֶשְׁמַ֖ע'esh.Ma'H8085unto them.

12Then shall the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063and inhabitantsוְיֹשְׁבֵי֙ve.yo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םye.Ru.sha.LimH3389goוְהָֽלְכ֞וּve.ha.le.KhuH1980,and cryוְזָֽעֲקוּ֙ve.za.'a.KuH2199unto the godsהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430unto whom they offer incenseמְקַטְּרִ֖יםme.ka.te.RimH6999:but they shall not saveוְהוֹשֵׁ֛עַve.ho.She.a'H3467them at allיוֹשִׁ֥יעוּyo.Shi.'uH3467in the timeבְּעֵ֥תbe.'EtH6256of their troubleרָעָתָֽם׃ra.'a.TamH7451.

13For according tothe numberמִסְפַּ֣רmis.ParH4557of thy citiesעָרֶ֔יךָ'a.Rei.khaH5892were thy godsאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,O Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063; and according tothe numberוּמִסְפַּ֞רu.mis.ParH4557of the streetsחֻצ֣וֹתchu.TzotH2351of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389have ye set upשַׂמְתֶּ֤םsam.TemH7760altarsמִזְבְּחוֹת֙miz.be.chOtH4196to thatshameful thingלַבֹּ֔שֶׁתla.Bo.shetH1322, evenaltarsמִזְבְּח֖וֹתmiz.be.ChotH4196to burn incenseלְקַטֵּ֥רle.ka.TerH6999unto Baalלַבָּֽעַל׃ סla.Ba.'alH1168.

14Therefore prayתִּתְפַּלֵּל֙tit.pa.LelH6419not thou for this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971,neither lift upתִּשָּׂ֥אti.Sa'H5375a cryרִנָּ֣הri.NahH7440or prayerוּתְפִלָּ֑הu.te.fi.LahH8605for them: for I will not hearשֹׁמֵ֗עַsho.Me.a'H8085themin the timeבְּעֵ֛תbe.'EtH6256that they cryקָרְאָ֥םka.re.'AmH7121unto me for their troubleרָעָתָֽם׃ סra.'a.TamH7451.

15What hath my belovedלִֽידִידִ֞יli.di.DiH3039to do in mine houseבְּבֵיתִ֗יbe.vei.TiH1004, seeingshe hath wroughtעֲשׂוֹתָ֤הּa.so.TahH6213lewdnessהַֽמְזִמָּ֙תָה֙ham.zi.Ma.tahH4209with manyהָֽרַבִּ֔יםha.ra.BimH7227,and the holyקֹ֖דֶשׁKo.deshH6944fleshוּבְשַׂר־u.ve.sar-H1320is passedיַעַבְר֣וּya.'av.RuH5674from thee? when thou doest evilרָעָתֵ֖כִיra.'a.Te.khiH7451,then thou rejoicestתַּעֲלֹֽזִי׃ta.'a.Lo.ziH5937.

16The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068calledקָרָ֥אka.Ra'H7121thy nameשְׁמֵ֑ךְshe.MekhH8034,A greenרַֽעֲנָן֙ra.'a.NanH7488olive treeזַ֤יִתZa.yitH2132,fairיְפֵ֣הye.PehH3303, andof goodlyתֹ֔אַרTo.'arH8389fruitפְרִי־fe.ri-H6529:with the noiseלְק֣וֹל׀le.KolH6963of a greatגְדֹלָ֗הge.do.LahH1419tumultהֲמוּלָּ֣הha.mu.LahH1999he hath kindledהִצִּ֥יתhi.TzitH3341fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784upon it, and the branchesדָּלִיּוֹתָֽיו׃da.li.yo.TavH1808of it are brokenוְרָע֖וּve.ra.'UH7489.

17For the Lordוַיהוָ֤הva.Yah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635,that plantedהַנּוֹטֵ֣עַha.no.Te.a'H5193thee, hath pronouncedדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696evilרָעָ֑הra.'AhH7451against thee, forבִּ֠גְלַלBig.lalH1558the evilרָעַ֨תra.'AtH7451of the houseבֵּֽית־beit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478and of the houseוּבֵ֣יתu.VeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063,which they have doneעָשׂ֥וּ'a.SuH6213against themselves to provoke me to angerלְהַכְעִסֵ֖נִיle.hakh.'i.Se.niH3707in offering incenseלְקַטֵּ֥רle.ka.TerH6999unto Baalלַבָּֽעַל׃ סla.Ba.'alH1168.

18And the Lordוַֽיהוָ֥הva.Yah.wehH3068hath given me knowledgeהֽוֹדִיעַ֖נִיho.di.'A.niH3045of it,and I knowוָֽאֵדָ֑עָהva.'e.Da.'ahH3045it:then thou shewedstהִרְאִיתַ֥נִיhir.'i.Ta.niH7200me their doingsמַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ma.'a.lei.HemH4611.

19But I waslike a lambכְּכֶ֥בֶשׂke.Khe.vesH3532oran oxאַלּ֖וּף'a.LufH441thatis broughtיוּבַ֣לyu.ValH2986to the slaughterלִטְב֑וֹחַlit.Vo.achH2873;and I knewיָדַ֜עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045not that they had devisedחָשְׁב֣וּcha.she.VuH2803devicesמַחֲשָׁב֗וֹתma.cha.sha.VotH4284against me, saying,Let us destroyנַשְׁחִ֨יתָהnash.Chi.tahH7843the treeעֵ֤ץ'etzH6086with the fruitבְּלַחְמוֹ֙be.lach.MoH3899thereof, and let us cut him offוְנִכְרְתֶ֙נּוּ֙ve.nikh.re.Te.nuH3772from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of the livingחַיִּ֔יםchai.YimH2416,that his nameוּשְׁמ֖וֹu.she.MoH8034may be no more rememberedיִזָּכֵ֥רyi.za.KherH2142.

20But, O Lordוַֽיהוָ֤הva.Yah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635,that judgestשֹׁפֵ֣טsho.FetH8199righteouslyצֶ֔דֶקTze.dekH6664,that triestבֹּחֵ֥ןbo.ChenH974the reinsכְּלָי֖וֹתke.la.YotH3629and the heartוָלֵ֑בva.LevH3820,let me seeאֶרְאֶ֤ה'er.'EhH7200thy vengeanceנִקְמָֽתְךָ֙nik.ma.te.ChaH5360on them: for unto thee have I revealedגִּלִּ֥יתִיgi.Li.tiH1540my causeרִיבִֽי׃ סri.ViH7379.

21Therefore thus saithאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068of the menאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582of Anathothעֲנָת֔וֹתa.na.TotH6068,that seekהַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֥יםham.vak.ShimH1245thy lifeנַפְשְׁךָ֖naf.she.KhaH5315,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Prophesyתִנָּבֵא֙ti.na.Ve'H5012not in the nameבְּשֵׁ֣םbe.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,that thou dieתָמ֖וּתta.MutH4191not by our handבְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃ סbe.ya.De.nuH3027:

22Therefore thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,Behold, I will punishפֹקֵ֖דfo.KedH6485them: the young menהַבַּֽחוּרִים֙ha.ba.chu.RimH970shall dieיָמֻ֣תוּya.Mu.tuH4191by the swordבַחֶ֔רֶבva.Che.revH2719;their sonsבְּנֵיהֶם֙be.nei.HemH1121and their daughtersוּבְנ֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔םu.ve.No.tei.HemH1323shall dieיָמֻ֖תוּya.Mu.tuH4191by famineבָּרָעָֽב׃ba.ra.'AvH7458:
