16and oneτιςtisG5100of you saysG3004to them, “GoὑπάγετεhupageteG5217in peaceεἰρήνῃ,eirēnēG1515,be warmedθερμαίνεσθεthermainestheG2328and be filledχορτάζεσθε,chortazestheG5526,”yetG1161you do not giveδῶτεdōteG1325them whatG3588is necessaryἐπιτήδειαepitēdeiaG2006for theirbodyσώματος,sōmatosG4983,whatτίtiG5101useὄφελος;ophelosG3786is that?

18But someoneτις·tisG5100may wellsayG3004, “You haveἔχεις,echeisG2192faithπίστινpistinG4102and I haveἔχω·echōG2192worksἔργαergaG2041;showδεῖξόνdeixonG1166me yourfaithπίστινpistinG4102withoutχωρὶςchōrisG5565the worksἔργωνergōnG2041, and I willshowδείξωdeixōG1166you my faithπίστινpistinG4102by my worksἔργωνergōnG2041.”

19You believeπιστεύειςpisteueisG4100thatGodθεός·theosG2316is oneεἷςheisG1520.You doποιεῖς·poieisG4160wellκαλῶςkalōsG2573;the demonsδαιμόνιαdaimoniaG1140alsoG2532believeπιστεύουσινpisteuousinG4100,and shudderφρίσσουσιν.phrissousinG5425.

20But are you willingθέλειςtheleisG2309to acknowledgeγνῶναι,gnōnaiG1097,you foolishκενέ,keneG2756personἄνθρωπεanthrōpeG444, thatfaithπίστιςpistisG4102withoutχωρὶςchōrisG5565worksἔργωνergōnG2041is uselessἀργήargēG692?

21Was our fatherπατὴρpatērG3962AbrahamἈβραὰμAbraamG11not justifiedἐδικαιώθηedikaiōthēG1344by worksἔργωνergōnG2041when he offeredἀνενέγκαςanenegkasG399upG399his sonυἱὸνhuionG5207IsaacἸσαὰκIsaakG2464on the altarθυσιαστήριον;thusiastērionG2379?
